Writing Challenge - single syllable words
SuperDaughter’s English class was given a writing challenge that I thought was excellent. They were tasked with writing a story using only single syllable words, and their teacher gave them a time limit of 10 minutes to write said story. For a twelve year old, I thought she did pretty well. I’m issuing the same challenge to any of our fic writers who want to try something new (and actually really hard) just for kicks. I don’t care if you take more than ten minutes, I just liked the challenge of single syllable words.
Here is The Divine Miss E’s story:
May lived as just one. May ate as just one. She was glad this way. One day May went out to town to buy her food. She bought eggs, bread, milk and wheat. As she shopped the town, a storm blew in. A cool air came with too much rain. May was in fear for her small home. She tried to go but the rain was too thick. She hid in fear to wait for it to end. When it was over, she raced back home, but there was no home to go to. She cried great tears. But help came swift. All who knew she was just one came and built a new home for her. May was so glad. May lives with some, May eats with more. She is glad this way.

Super super proud of my amazing daughter @basiclyslick. She's only gone and got senior prefect and got the best ever parents evening ever. I cannot wait to see her on educating Salford going for head girl as apparently even though she already makes me proud just by drawing breath she's going to blow me for 6 according to all her teachers. How lucky am I to have raised such a beautiful lady and as a single parent really till last few years. Dunno how I did being up such a beautiful and amazing lady but I did and I'm so so lucky to call you my daughter. Me and @daveholt74 are so proud what a beautiful lady she's grown into.
