After talking with your aunt, Kara got out of the car to guide people towards the shelters.

‘Please be careful’ she said ‘All of you’

‘We will’ Lena said. They kissed. She then left.

‘Alright let’s go’ Lena said.

It took you more than expected to get to the DEO because of all that was going on outside, but thanks to Supergirl’s and the police’s effort of making people go to the shelters you made it.

Once inside you all soon found Alex. It was all a mess, there were agents going in every direction trying to figure out what was going on.

‘Alex’ your mom said, walking towards your aunt.

‘Lena’ she replied. ‘Hi, I’m so glad that you made it’

‘What’s happening?’ your mom asked.

‘Come here’

She then led you all to the main screen where Brainy was working. In the big screen you were all able to see at least four spaceships covering the sky of National city. Lena looked closely, trying to recognize the machines.

‘Do we know where they come from? or what do they want?’ your mom asked

‘We have no idea’ Brainy answered

‘What?’ You asked

You three turned your heads to look at Brainy and Alex.

‘There is nothing in our database similar to those spaceships’

Lena turned away from all of you and walked slowly towards the screen, thinking.

‘The DEO database contains at least the most basic information of every alien. Even the Legion updated it the last time they came and …’

Alex walked towards her sister in law.

‘What are you trying to say?’

She walked towards a nearby table and grabbed a tablet. She started to type quickly ignoring everyone and everything around her. You looked at your sister, confused, she looked at you but did nothing, you were surprised that she hadn’t made any sarcastic comment or said anything yet, but there she was, with a serious expression, completely quiet.

‘Lena, tell us’ Alex insisted.

‘My brother, he got out of prison a couple of hours ago. Even though he had been in there for many years now, I still remember his last project… dimensional transportation… what if- what if we can’t recognise them because they are from a completely different dimension? what if this is all another of Lex’s crazy experiments?’

Everyone froze, just as your mother had said, Lex had been imprisoned a long time ago, a couple years before Lori was born. The big threat that he meant all those years ago was now nothing but a memory. During the last ten years, all the DEO and your mothers had worked really hard to get to this level of safety. Nowadays, even if there were emergencies once in a while, they were never as big or critical as they used to be.

Alex, Brainy and your mom started to discuss the possibilities. You wanted to join them, you wanted to help, but before you could do anything you saw how your sister suddenly left, she fastly started to walk away without saying a word, being almost unnoticed. You however did notice and after telling your mom that you and Lori were going to the bathroom (she was way too focused debating the possible options that she didn’t notice that you were the only one left and that Lori was already gone). You obviously never went to the bathroom, instead you went to one of the training rooms. It was a special place for Lori and you since it once became a daycare in which you spent a lot of days and some nights.

You slowly opened the door and found her, Lori was curled up on the floor, silently crying. Her back pressed to the wall with her head on her knees.

‘Lori’ you said, walking slowly towards your sister. With time you learnt how she, unlike you, didn’t like physical contact when she was stressed or overwhelmed. So you simply sat next to her and placed your hand on her back and stood in that position for a few minutes, simply letting her know that you were there.

‘What happened?’ you asked

‘I’m so sorry’ you managed to hear.

‘Sorry? for what? You did nothing wrong’ you were about to continue talking when you realised, no, she couldn’t have, she wouldn’t, if she had started working with him again she would have told you. Lori then looked at you, her eyes puffy and red. ‘Lori, what did you do?’ you asked in a serious tone.

‘I didn’t know- I’

Before Lori could continue Lena walked in.

‘There you are’ she said, relieved. ‘What is going on?’ she quickly asked, seeing the tears forming in Lori’s eyes and the anger rising in yours. Kara walked in the room a couple seconds after.

‘Hey’ she immediately hugged Lena. Even after all the years they’ve been together, even after everything they had been through, everytime Kara left for a mission Lena’s heart stopped, she just couldn’t get used to it. So every time they reunited they both needed to make sure that the other was safe. Once the sweet romantic moment was over Kara looked at you and your sister, you quickly got up and away from Lori. Anger getting stronger inside of you, because even if what was going on wasn’t totally her fault, she lied to you, she worked with Lex. You clearly told her not to do that, you told her that it was dangerous, but she did it anyway. The worst part was that she promised you she would tell you everything that was happening. So once she stopped doing so you assumed that she didn’t work with him anymore.

‘Girls we actually need to talk about something’ Lena said pulling you out of your thoughts.

‘What is it?’ you asked.

‘It’s your uncle’ Kara said

Lori raised her head from her knees but she soon avoided making any visual contact with you and looked at Kara.

‘So, as you both have heard, he somehow is out of prison. We are still not sure of how he made it out, but we will make him go back to his cell as soon as we can’ Lena continued.‘The thing is, we are almost sure that what is happening has something to do with him. We don’t want you to panic however. We are all here, safe and we will solve this’

‘We are telling you this because we’ve found out that the creatures in those ships are planning an attack. The reason why they haven’t done it yet is because there are still more ships to come’ Kara explained

‘More?!’ you interrupted

‘Yes, more. This means that we do not have much time. Therefore, even if we are not entirely happy with this decision… we are gonna need all the help we can get, which includes you both too’ she said.

‘What can we do?’ you asked, excited to finally take part in something like this. You had heard every single story and adventure your mothers had lived and, even if this was a bit scary, it was also incredibly exciting.

‘Well, Y/N I need you to warn Clark and tell him to come here as soon as possible. The more kryptonians the better’ Kara told you. You quickly nodded.

‘That is true, we must be prepared. However if we can avoid any battle the better. That’s why we need to figure out a way to send those ships back to where they came from’ Lena said

You looked at Lori, if she had worked with Lex in this she would definitely know something that could help.

‘I’m sure it won’t be hard for Lori to figure it out’ you mentioned harsly

Lena looked at you and then at her eldest daughter. Something was clearly going on.

Lori got up looking at the ground and then at you. You raised your eyebrows and walked towards her.

‘Either you say it or I do’ you whispered to her.

‘What is going on?’ Kara asked worriedly.

You looked at her and then at Lori. Since your sister didn’t seem to say anything you did

‘Lori has been working with Lex’

‘WHAT?!’ your moms screamed.

Lori couldn’t take it anymore, tears started falling from her eyes.

‘I swear it is not what it looks like and-and I-I n-never throught h-he would do anything like this’ she said in between sobs.

Lena walked towards Lori and immediately hugged her. ‘It’s ok’ she repeated to her while she crumbled in her arms.

Kara placed a hand on your shoulder.

‘Go warn Clark’ she said

You looked at Lori and your mom, unsure of leaving, feeling responsible for what had happened.

‘We’ll be here when you come back but we can’t waste time. Go’ she said

You nodded and quickly left the room. Kara then walked towards her wife and daughter and hugged them both. After a few seconds they broke the hug.

‘Lori, we need you to tell us everything that has happened’ Kara said, brushing the tears from her cheeks with her thumb.

Lori nodded.

You started flying and that’s when you realized how fast you were now able to go. Since the bullet incident you hadn’t used your powers that much and you hadn’t flown at all. But now that you were, you could clearly see how much they had increased. You soon arrived at Clark’s farm, you walked towards the door and knocked on the door. After a few minutes Louis opened.

‘Hey Y/N!’ she hugged you ‘How did you get here? I didn’t know you were coming’

You laughed ‘Well, Kara sent me. Is Clark here?’

‘Right here’ he said walking behind his wife.

‘Hi uncle Clark’

‘ I assume that if you’re here on your own at this time of the day it’s not to visit us is it?’

‘I wish it was but there’s an emergency and we need you’

He nodded.

‘Alright then, what is it?’

‘Can I tell you while we’re flying? Kara said to hurry’

After a few minutes you both arrived at the DEO.

‘Y/N, Superman, this way’ Alex said as soon as he saw you both.

You all entered a lab where both of your moms were along with Brainy, Lori and J’onn.

‘Clark, thanks for coming’ Kara said

‘No problem, what can I help with?’ he asked

‘With this’ Lena said walking towards all of you with a small device in her hands.

‘What does it do?’

‘Well, if we place one of these in each ship we believe we will be able to send them away’ she explained ‘we can’t send them back to where they came from since we don’t know where that is but we do can send them away from this planet’

‘So we have to place one in each ship and that’s it?’ Clark asked

‘Yes but it's not that easy. They must be inside each ship’

‘How are we gonna get in?’ you asked

‘Well I’ve studied the ships and I’ve noticed how under them there’s a little conduit. I suppose the use as an emergency conduit or something similar’ J’onn mentioned.

‘Ok then let’s go’ Kara said

Lena started giving out the devices: one to Clark, other to J’onn and the two left to Kara.

‘Kara’ Lena said. ‘This device is the main one, once you place it you have to place the button, you will then have one minute to get out, after that the ships will be sent away’

‘What about me?’ you asked her. Kara hear it and walked towards you. she placed her hands on your shoulders.

‘Little one, you must stay here with your mom ok?’ she said

‘But I can help’

‘I know you can, thanks to you Clark is here, but I need you to stay here’

You looked at her, clearly not happy with the answer she had given you.

‘Please don’t look at me like that’ she chuckled ‘ I swear I’ll call you if something happens or if we need your help’

You nodded. She placed a lock of hair behind your ear and kissed your forehead. A few seconds later she was gone. You walk with Lena and everyone else towards the screen where you could see what was going on outside. Both Alex and your mom were guiding the rest towards the ship and ready to warn them if something happened. After watching silently for a few seconds you noticed how Lori wasn’t around, you wanted to ask your mom about it but she was way too concentrated.. So you walked around until you found her, she was on the balcony.

‘Hey’ you said walking next to her. She didn’t respond and kept looking at the city in front of both of you.

‘I’m sorry’ you said after a few seconds, she turned towards you.

‘For what?’

‘ For telling them and leaving you once they found out’

‘You had to get Clark and they needed to know’

‘Still’

‘It’s ok, it’s my fault, I should have told them as soon as I started working with him. I shouldn’t have done that i the first place’ she said. You could see the guilt in her eyes.

‘Don’t do that. Don’t blame yourself’

‘Why not? Thanks to the project I did with Lex all of this is happening. You don’t get it, I was the one who did the research, I was the one who designed it and now… he’s the one testing it’

You sighed.

‘Look, you can’t change the past, as much as you want to, but… think of it this way: because you worked with Lex, because you did the research, the design, all of that. Because you did that we were now able to create a device to solve it. So, yeah, you could think that if you hadn’t worked with him this wouldn’t have happened… or you can think that thanks to you working with him we found a solution’

She looked at you, tears in her eyes.

‘How do you do it?’

‘Do what?’

‘Be so incredibly stupid and so wise at the same time’

You laughed at her comment. She then hugged you.

‘Thank you’

You hugged for a few minutes. Then you heard it, you had to go. You broke the hugged but before you could say anything she did ‘Go’. You nodded and took off.

You continued to hear it, it was Jordan. You flew all the way to their farm, faster than you have ever flown. Once you arrived you entered the house, the door was open. Oh no.

You walked in, careful not to make any noise.

‘Y/N’ Louis whispered. She was lying on the floor.

You superspeeded towards her.

‘Are you ok? What happened?’ you asked nervously.

‘I’m good, I got knocked out’ You helped her stand up. ‘They are here’

‘Who?’

‘Those aliens from the ships’

‘Why would they come here?’

‘Y/N they didn’t come to conquer our planet. The came to hunt’

‘Hunt? Hunt what?’

‘Kryptonians’

You froze, of course. It was Lex after all who got them here and he would obviously want revenge for what had happened all those years ago.

‘Where are Jordan and Jonathan?’

‘I think they ran away, that way’ she pointed towards the backyard. But before you could leave she grabbed your hand

‘Y/N, please, bring them back’

‘I will’ something inside of you activated, you felt stronger, angrier, ready to destroy anyone who could hurt your family. The role of the Knight of Krypton was kicking in inside of you and you could tell, you had never felt like this before, you had never felt you protective and ready to do whatever it takes.

You ran, no, you flew, you flew until you found them. They were surrounded by the most awful creatures you had ever seen. They had their hands tied, you focused your vision until you realized that those weren’t ropes, or regular handcuffs, no, they were handcuffs with kryptonite. Which meant that Louis theory was true, they came prepared to hunt and take down all of your family. The rage took over you once more, and without thinking about it, you used your heat vision. You managed to hit all of the aliens. This surprised you since you had never been able to use your heat vision with that precision. However, one of the aliens stood up and threw a kryptonite net over your body. You could feel how it burnt your skin, but then you simply pushed it away, as if it did nothing to you. It did, but the necessity to save them was stronger.

You now understood Jor-El words, as the protector of the Kryptonians you were more resistant, more powerful and specially when they were in danger. That was the first time you understood how the Knight of Krypton was more than just a title, it was a huge responsibility, the type of thing that would have scared you, but not now, cause now there was no sign of Y/N Luthor-Danvers, the only one around was Y/N Zor El. And without even noticing she had taken all of the aliens down.

‘Y/N?!’ Jordan screamed

They both ran towards you and hugged you

‘Are you ok?’ you asked

‘Yes’ ‘We are now’ They both said

‘How did you do it? How could you take them down?’

You hadn’t even realized you had, so you couldn’t really answer. You were thinking about it when you felt it once more, it was like an instinct that was activated in you when one kryptonian was in danger. You used your super hearing, it was Supergirl.

‘I have to go’ you said and then took off once more.

As you flew you allowed the instinct to take over you. It took you to one of the ships back in National city. You saw how the conduit was open. Kara must have opened it to place the device Lori built inside. You entered, it was a long corridor that led to a room, it was like J’onn had explained, except for one thing, this room had a door covered in kryptonite. In front of the door was Kara, she was lying on the floor, but she was not alone, she was surrounded by two of those incredibly ugly creatures. They were covering her in a kryptonite net, just like you were a few minutes ago. You repeated the movement, you heat vision both of them until they fell to the floor. You ran towards your mom, her veins were green, this wasn't good.

‘Y/N?’ Kara whispered.

‘Yes it’s me’

‘What are you doing here? It’s dangerous. The kryptonite-’

‘I know’ you interrupted, there wasn’t much time. You looked at the device on her hand, took it and walked towards the door

‘What are you doing? You can’t go in there! Y/N it’s full of kryptonite, you won’t be able to survive being exposed to it’ she said trying to get up. It was true, your chances of surviving being close to so much kryptonite were very low, but hers were lower, she was already hurt. You knew what you had to do.

‘I have to, if I don’t they will get all of you’

‘NONONO, I’m the one who has to go in there’ she said walking towards you.

‘I’m sorry’ you then superspeed and pushed out of the corridor, then you closed the front door, leaving her outside of the ship. You saw how she was falling and you were about to regret the idea until you saw Superman flying towards her body, she was gonna be ok. Without thinking it twice you ran towards the kryptonite door, took a deep breath and opened it. You took the device and placed it on the other side of the door. You soon felt the burnt, it was stronger, way stronger than you had ever felt it. You pressed the button. You tried to open the door to get out, but the pain was too much, you were dizzy and couldn’t focus. Before you could think about what to do you felt something hit your back. You turned around and saw an alien. But it wasn’t like the ones you had fought before, this one was way bigger and stronger and scarier. You tried to punch him but he dodged it easily. You continued to throw attacks and he continued to avoid them. Until he kicked you, he kicked you right in the chest, so hard that you went through the door. You looked at the device, now on the floor, luckily it was not broken. You ran and grabbed it once more, then you placed it on the wall and pressed the button Ok I have one minute you said to yourself. You used your heat vision for the third time today (woah you really went from not being able to use it to it being your go-to attack) you hitted him in the face. He screamed and fell to the floor. You were turning around ready to get out of the ship when the alien suddenly got up and pushed you to the floor. You screamed, not because of the push but because while doing so he had stabbed you with one of the kryptonites that were on the door. You looked at the timer on the device, 20 seconds left. With the little strength that you had left you kicked him and punched him until he was no longer over you but on the ground . You looked at him, he was now definitely unconscious (if not dead). You got up.

10 seconds left. You walked through the corridor towards the door you had closed before. You tried to run but couldn’t because of the kryptonite inside of you.

5 seconds left, you got to the door, you tried to open it, but you realized how the knob of the door was broken.

3 seconds left, desperate you started punching the door while crying, you didn’t feel strong anymore, you felt scared and lonely.

2 seconds left, you took a step back, think Y/N think you said to yourself. You tried to think but failed, fuck it. You took another step back and ran towards the door, throwing your body towards it, hoping it would give in and open.

1 second left.

Lena wakes slowly, blinks into consciousness, and she can tell by the light in the room that it’s still night out. The room is half lit by the soft glow from Kara’s bedside lamp, not the usual light that’s just starting to peak through their curtains when her alarm usually wakes her.

A soft scratching sound registers in her mind, and she knows that’s what woke her, the sound familiar, but one she’s more used to hearing during the day.

“I’m sorry, go back to sleep,” Kara says softly from above her, and Lena tilts her head to find her wife sitting up beside her, looking down at her over the book in her hand.

“Nightmare?” Lena asks, sitting up herself.

Kara nods. “I couldn’t get back to sleep.”

Lena leans into Kara’s side, tips her head so it’s resting on Kara’s shoulder. “You should’ve woken me.”

“I didn’t want to wake you, you looked so peaceful. See?” Kara tilts the sketch book sideways so Lena can see it properly. Kara draws a few more quick lines on the paper to finish the drawing and with a flourish of her wrist, she signs the bottom with her name. “My beautiful wife, fast asleep. How was I meant to wake you when you looked like this?”

Lena lets out a quiet laugh as she examines the paper in front of her, admires the sketch Kara has done of her. She knows that if she were to flick through the book that’s in Kara’s hand, she’d find more than half the drawings would be of her. She turns her head, presses a kiss to Kara’s shoulder. “You still should’ve woken me.”

Kara turns, dislodging Lena from her side as she puts the sketchbook on the bedside table. She switches off the lamp and then settles back into Lena’s side, this time with them both lying down.

Kara’s head is now pillowed on her shoulder and Lena puts her arm around her back, holds her close. “Are you okay?”

“I am now,” Kara says, voice soft. “Go back to sleep.”

“Do you think you’ll be able to sleep? If not, we can get up. We could watch a movie and eat some of the leftover pie in the fridge?”

Kara presses her face into Lena’s neck. “What I really want now is to cuddle with my wife.”

“Okay.” Lena turns and presses a kiss to Kara’s forehead and she feels Kara melt even further into her.

“Thank you.”

“Always. Wake me if you need me?”

Kara nods.

Lena trails her hand gently up and down Kara’s back as she feels her grow sleepy against her. Lena is tired herself, but she wants to wait until Kara falls asleep, wants to make sure her wife is okay, she knows how bad the nightmares can get.

It was your third day at the DEO, you still hadn’t left the bed, not because you didn’t feel capable but because they wouldn’t let you. Even if you reassured your moms, your aunt and their friends that you felt fine they wouldn’t let you do anything. According to them it was because since the poison had expanded through your veins it had affected your whole body so you had to wait to do anything (like walking) until some time had passed. It was frustrating honestly, because, even if they told you that you were recovering and weak, you felt stronger than ever, powerful and with a lot of energy. Luckily, after a long time of begging and convincing you managed them to let you walk for a bit, to stretch your legs.

‘Be careful’ Kara said while extending her arms towards you, you nodded.

You moved towards the end of the bed and placed one foot on the floor and then the other one. You took a deep breath and while using Kara’s arm as a support you got up. It was confusing, it was like if you weren’t hurt, you were walking normally.

‘See, told you that I was ok’ you said walking towards Lena with Kara behind you ready to catch you if it was necessary.

‘Alright, I guess you are recovering faster than usual’ she admitted.

‘Maybe I am a bit invulnerable after all’ you said excited.

Kara and Lena looked at each other, they still hadn’t told you about the possible effects the bullet might have had on you, they wanted to, but were scared of your reaction.

The thing is, your relationship with your powers has been complicated: when you were a baby you had sudden outbursts of powers, like that one time you were playing hide and seek and you ended up hiding in one of the highest shelves cause you flew there or when you froze three pacifiers in two days. As you got older those outbursts disappeared, they did happen but weren’t as usual as they used to. The only ones that stayed were the super strength, flying (kind of) and superspeed but x-ray vision, heat vision, freeze breath and the rest disappeared. So, when a year ago, they started to come back and you began to learn how to control them. You were so excited. You felt so happy because (even if you will never admit it) being Supergirl's daughter meant dealing with a lot of pressure, almost everyone assumed that you would have the same abilities as your mom and that you would be able to control them as well as she does. Everyone but Lena, she never cared about powers or anything like that, on the contrary she was a bit happy that you hadn’t developed them yet, because that meant that you couldn’t join battles or stop attacks like Kara did. It meant that you had to stay out of trouble and dangerous situations (at least for now). It meant that you could live a more ‘human’ life and be safe. She was proud of you being able to control them once they slowly came back, but deep inside she wished they hadn’t. Not because she thought you weren’t capable, but because she knew you would end up following Kara’s steps and she already worried about Kara everytime she got into that suit, she didn't wanna deal with the fact that you may end up wearing one too.

Alex walked into the room ‘Woah, you’re walking already’ she said.

‘She is’ Kara said.

‘Does this mean I can go home now?’

‘Well first we should-’ but before Alex could answer she threw a little tennis ball at you. You reacted quickly and grabbed it with only one hand

‘okey that’s a good response’

‘See I’m fine’ you said.

Your moms looked at your aunt.

‘I mean she has passed every test’

Brainy walked into the room and soon enough you were talking with him, telling him how excited you were to go back to your normal life. This was perfect since Alex was able to talk to your moms without you noticing.

‘Wasn’t she supposed to be very weak after the surgery?’ Lena asked

‘Well she’s the opposite of weak, I haven't seen her this active and excited in a while’ Kara added.

‘I know, but she’s either having a different response to the surgery or, just maybe, she is invulnerable after all and she’s actually fine and recovered’

‘But, didn’t the venom affect her powers? Does this mean they weren’t affected?’ Lena continued

‘I’m gonna be honest, I have no idea. I mean I haven’t dealt with that venom before and definitely not when the patient was half kryptonian. Either way, keep an extra eye on her, just in case’

So half an hour later,you were arriving home.

‘Here we are, home sweet home’ Kara said, opening the front door and entering your home, both Lena and you behind her.

‘You sure you’re ok?’ Lena said placing a hand in your shoulder ‘It’s okay if you’re not, you don’t have to be’

You nodded.

‘Guys, really I’m fine’ you said walking towards the kitchen ‘I’m starving, but the rest feels fine’

‘Well we can fix that’ Lena said.

Your moms walked towards you but before they got there Lena’s phone started ringing. She took it out of her pockect Fuck she thought. It was from Jess, even if she had left it organized so she could spend time with you until you fully recovered, L-Corp was not gonna make it that easy and there were certain things that Lena couldn’t stop taking care of.

‘You should go to L-Corp’ Kara said, as if she had just read her wife’s mind.

‘You’ll be okay?’

‘Yeah’ Kara answered, walking towards her and hugging Lena. ‘I mean I’m not a great chef like you but I’m sure I can work something out’ she said, making her wife giggle. She then kissed the top of her head ‘I love you’

‘I love you too. I’ll be back as soon as possible. I promise’ Lena replied, breaking the hug.

‘We’ll be waiting,'' Kara said, turning her head to look at you and saw you investigating the fridge to see what you could eat.

Lena nodded and her phone started ringing once more.

‘Go’ Kara said. Lena obeyed.

Kara walked towards you.

‘Okey little one it's just us now. What do we have?’ She said hugging you from behind and looking at the fridge.

You both spent 15 minutes trying to find something to eat. You did and were now eating it in a comfortable silence.

‘Hey can I tell you something?’ you asked, Kara looked at you from the other side of the counter.

‘Of course, anything’ she said giving you all of her attention.

‘When the venom was inside of me, I saw something’

‘What did you see?’

‘It was really weird, I was at the Fortress and grandma Alura was there’ You stopped for a second.

‘My mother was there?’ she asked.

‘Yeah, and your father too’

‘Were they doing something or was it just them staying there?’ She was completely invested in the story.

‘They were talking to me, telling me that I had a very important role to play. Saying that it was crucial’ you said.

‘Well that was a weird dream wasn’t it?’ she said.

‘It didn’t seem like a dream’ you said

‘How so?’

‘I don’t know they felt very real and at one point Alura held my hand and I swear I could feel it’ you said.

‘Alex told me that the sedant they gave you was very strong. She said that you could have weird dreams while being under the effect, besides you were under a lot of pain’ Kara explained.

‘You don’t think it was real do you?’

‘I’m not sure Y/N. Did they say anything else?’

‘The said something about the Knight of Krypton’

She froze. She raised her head and looked at you as if she had just seen a ghost.

‘Mom?’ you asked, really confused.

‘D-did you just say t-the Knight of Krypton?’ she asked. She knew what it was, what freaked her out was that she had never told you about it, so there was no way you could have dreamt it. She hadn’t even heard that name in so long.

‘Umm...yeah, why? what is it?’

‘Oh rao’

‘What?’

she didn’t reply.

‘Mom you’re scaring me, what does it mean?’

She didn’t speak for a few minutes. You were about to call her once more but before you could do that she finally spoke.

According to Kryptonian mythology, the Knight of Krypton would be chosen by a test and it had to be one member of the noble ruling families of Krypton. The function of the chosen one was to protect the royal members along with the planet’s culture and traditions’

‘Wait, really?’

‘However, no one was chosen for a long time so it turned into a myth’

‘Well, does it say anything else?’ you asked, completely invested in what your mom was saying.

‘It does say that the chosen ones were always the strongest descendants of royalty and..’ kara didn’t wanna continue, because she knew that it will probably do nothing good to you, but she couldn't hide it to you, since if what you were saying was true… oh no, she really hoped it wasn’t true.

‘and?’ you pressured, you were not about to give in now.

‘Well all the chosen ones that have stayed in history and have protagonized the myths had to sacrifice themselves in order to complete the mission they were given’

‘wait, WHAT? sacrifice?! in what way? and what mission were they given?’ you said while getting up from the chair, freaking out with what your mother had just said.

‘I wish I knew but I don’t’

‘Could that explain why I healed so fast and be the reason why I feel stronger?’ you asked.

‘I mean according to the myth once the Knight of Krypton is chosen they become stronger than usual’ Kara said going back to her food in order to stress eat.

You sat again and looked at the counter. What were you supposed to do?! You were only a teen, the last thing you wanted was to be the supposed savior of an already dead planet. You didn’t even know if you wanted to become a superhero like your mom! Besides you had never been great with your powers so, if someone had to be chosen, the last one everyone expected was you.

‘I need to call Clark’ Kara said, breaking the silence still freaking out. She got up with her phone in her hand and started calling your uncle while pacing around the room. Meanwhile you were just sitting there, waiting, hoping it was nothing but a mistake and that you didn’t have anything to do with it.

Your mom talked on the phone for five minutes after that she hung up. She looked at you and sighed when she saw the tears forming in your eyes.

‘Come here’ she said, opening her arms. You got up and ran towards her. She quickly placed her arms around you and held you tight.

‘We’ll solve this, it’ll be okay’ she said, stroking your cheek gently.

‘I’m so scared’

‘I know little one, I know’

After hugging for some minutes, some crying from both parts and a lot of reassuring from Kara you both broke the hug.

‘Let’s go’ she said

‘Where?’

‘To the Fortress, Clark is waiting for us there’

You both flew there and in a couple of minutes you were already in front of the door. Even if you had been there a million times, it still impressed you how beautiful the place was. Your mom held your hand, she looked at you, reassuring you, then she led you towards the entrance. Once in you saw your uncle, his sons ( Jonathan and Jordan).

‘Hi guys’ your mom said

‘Kara’ Clark said

You all greeted each other,but even if it was nice seeing them, you were still very confused. What are we all doing here? you thought.

‘Is she here yet?’ your mom asked

But before Clark could answer she appeared. Lorelai Danvers-Luthor was standing in front of all of you.

‘Lori?’ you asked confused. It’s not that you were not happy to see her, however, your older sister was supposed to be at the most prestigious university of the planet. So, you know, if being Supergirl and Lena Luthor’s daughter wasn’t enough pressure for you, the universe decided to give you a perfect older sister who was a total genius. However, how could you not love her? She was, aside from your moms, the person you looked up to the most.

‘Hey sis, missed me?’ she said, smiling.

Kara superseded towards her older child and hugged her tightly. You did the same.

‘So what are we all doing here?’ Jordan asked, breaking the family moment.

‘Well, as you can see we all are the descendants of the house of El’ Clark said.

‘Does this have to do with the myth you just told us about?’ Jonathan interrupted.

You looked at Kara, on the verge of panicking again.

‘It does’ Kara said ‘Y/N has had a vision, a dream that has acted as a signal. To announce us that something is coming and that one of us must be chosen’

‘So, is one of us gonna be the chosen one?’ Jonathan asked excitedly.

‘That’s what we are suspecting’ Clark continued.

‘I suppose that you have a way of finding out?’ Lori asked

‘We do’ Kara said. After looking at you she went to the control panel and typed something. Suddenly a hologram of Jor-El (Superman’s father) appeared.

‘If this function is being activated it is because the time has come. Now we will discover who will be our protector in the dangerous and difficult times about to begin’ Jor-El said. The light of the room turned into an orange/brown one. Almost as if it would be on Krypton. ‘The test will begin soon, every heir of the house of El will participate regardless of their abilities. Between the descendants the one who completes the test will be the next Knight of Krypton’

Suddenly you were all levitating, surrounded by what looked like ropes of sunlight. You felt nothing at first, but soon enough you felt incredible pain. Before you could say anything you saw how the ropes let go of Clark. He fell to the ground but got up quickly and looked at all five of you.

The pain soon got much worse. All the bad emotions you’ve ever had, all the bad thoughts and experiences were back in your head. While Kara, Lori and Jordan were screaming, you and Jonathan stayed silent.

The next one to fall was Lori, but before she could hit the ground Clark grabbed her.

‘You ok?’ he asked

She nodded.

The pain only got worse and worse. You wanted to quit, you really did, you wanted to fall into the ground and stop trying. But something, a thought at the back of your head was forcing you to keep fighting. Something was telling you that you had to hold on.

Kara suddenly fell.

‘MOM’ you screamed

‘I’m ok, don't worry’ she said while trying to get up. Lori ran towards her and helped her.

It all stayed silent for a few minutes. You and your cousins were the only ones left. The silence was broken by Jonathan's screams. The pain was getting too much and you were on the verge of tears.

He soon fell to the ground, but not as the rest did, he felt hardly, almost as if the solar strings were throwing him.

‘No’ he said.

‘Jonathan, Jonathan are you hurt?!’ Clark said running towards him

It was only Jordan and you. Unlike your siblings you both had powers, however he had them a bit more over control than you did. But that didn’t matter right now, because the fight that you were facing now didn’t require them.

You were both reaching your limit, you weren’t even trying to hide your pain anymore.

‘It’s gonna end them’ Jonathan said

‘We must stop it’ Lori said

‘No’ Kara said, grabbing her arm. ‘We can’t’

Your body started to collapse and so did your cousin’s. He screamed once more and suddenly fell, as harshly as her brother did. Then the pain you felt evolved into power. You felt stronger than ever. The solar strings turned into a sphere that surrounded you fully.

‘Y/N!’ your mom screamed

The hologram appeared once more.

‘The Knight of Krypton has been chosen. You are now attached to this title and responsibility until death separates you from it’ He then disappeared saying nothing more.

You floated slowly to the floor. Your mom ran towards you and hugged you.

‘You made it. It’s alright now’ she said stroking your back

‘How is this possible?’ Jonathan asked, clearly irritated.

‘Jonathan’ Clark warned giving his son a look.

‘What do you mean?’ Lori replied.

He looked at your sister.

‘Come on, out of all of us, her?’ he said with sarcasm. He wasn’t wrong though, you weren't the strongest or the one with the most experience.

‘Well she is, she was chosen, not you, her’ Lori replied.

‘What’s going to happen now?’ Jordan asked

‘What do you mean?’ Clark asked

‘The hologram said that difficult times were coming’ he replied

Clark looked at your mom who looked at him too.

‘I’m not sure, but it's just a matter of time until we find out’ he said while looking at her. They both nodded.

They soon walked towards a different room, leaving you with your cousins and sister in the main room.

‘You made it’ Lori said, walking towards you.

‘I guess I did’

She hugged you

‘I’ve missed you’ she said

‘Impossible, you were to busy being perfect to remember me’ you said jokingly

She laughed at your comment. In the next room the adults were speaking.

‘What are we gonna do now?’ Clark asked

‘Prepare ourselves’ Kara replied

‘How? She’s just a kid’

‘Don’t you think I know that? She my kid’ Kara replied

‘You don’t think she’s capable’ he announced

‘I think she’s capable of doing everything she wants. But I must admit that this is bigger than I had ever imagined’

He placed his hand on her shoulder.

‘We’ll find a solution’

‘I’ll train her as hard as possible, but she’s still a child. I won’t make sacrifice her life for this’ Kara replied

‘I hope we don’t end up in that situation either’

They talked for a bit more, but were soon with all of you.

‘I assume you’ll be staying for dinner’ Kara said to Lori.

‘Yes, I actually just finished this semester so I have a couple weeks of holidays and I was hoping I could spend them at home?’

‘Rao I’ve missed you’ Kara said.

Even if Lori was only 18 she had just finished her first semester in physics and technology. It was in a different country and it included a series of practices all around the world. It was incredible and a great opportunity but it meant that she couldn’t stay at home. So, since she didn’t have powers she couldn’t fly home if it wasn’t on a plane. That, however, never seemed to bother her since she had inherited the incredible Luthor brain, so she never felt inferior or anything like that, and if she did, she never showed it.

You all went home.You entered first, then Kara and then your sister. When you opened the door you saw Lena in the kitchen counter with her laptop working

‘There you are’ she said when she saw you. ‘Where were you two I was getting worried?!’ But before she could answer she saw Lori ‘OMG LORI’ she yelled as she ran towards her.

She trapped her in a hug.

‘Surprise’ Lori said.

‘You all really have a lot of explaining to do’ she said

You all laughed, you really did have a lot to explain.
