LUCY AND SAMMY HEADCANONS IN HONOR OF THE CAST ALBUM!!!

Lucy used to call Sam “Sammy Hammy” because Sam hates ham. He absolutely despised the nickname until he became an adult.
Lucy is the one that got Sam his first comic book!
Lucy worked at a dog adoption center while she was in Phoenix. Sam (and Michael) always wanted a dog, but they could never have one because they were worried about how the father would react to it. So Sam got really attached every time he would go to the pet center!
Sam really loves sixties music because Lucy used to show it to him!
They both have an attachment to the Beatles, especially Imagine by John Lennon.
They (along with Michael) are Jewish! Their father is Christian but both Sam and Michael were always more attached to their mother’s side on religion (and everything else).
(Additionally, Lucy’s mother is Jewish and her father was Christian, explaining why they have so many crosses in their house.)
Planning for Sam’s bar mitzvah was really crummy because he didn’t have any friends and his dad really couldn’t care less, but Lucy and Michael made it as fun as it could be!
When Sam got his first boyfriend, Lucy interrogated the Hell out of him. It’s a good thing she did, because he ended up being a jerk (Sammy’s second boyfriend was nicer dw).
Sam got his kicks in and did this with Lucy’s potential dates as well!
Sam used to collect McDonalds toys every Friday when he was little! Lucy would buy it as a reward for getting through the week!
Lucy loves shopping with Sam! Michael is much more bland when it comes to fashion (according to Lucy) but Sam is much more fun!
She would defend her and her kid when his father (whose name is Clarence) called him too girly.
It took a long time for Sam to come to terms with his sexuality. He never would have said it was cool to be queer if it weren’t for Lucy’s help (Fanfic below!).
Speaking of that, I think Lucy really struggled with Sam’s sexuality at first. She never once considered not accepting him, but she doesn’t want his life to be harder than it already is.
She knows that it’s not safe and that Sam’s father would kill him.
She also has been hurt by many men, including Sam’s father, so she’s worried about that aspect of it.
Sam was bullied after asking his friends if they wanted to make friendship bracelets, so he made one for his mom and she wears it whenever she can!
As Sam got older, they also did matching manicures!
Sam introduced Lucy to Rocky Horror! Lucy was scandalized at first but she was eventually able to get into the fun!
After Sam came out, Lucy was disappointed about his taste in men so she tried to show him the celebrities that she was attracted to when she was his age.
(It didn’t work. His Rob Lowe obsession remained with him throughout his teens)
Lucy always assumed that Sam would become a comic book writer when he grew up, and she assumed correctly! He’s also an English professor.
Sam made a character that was literally just Lucy if she had powers. Her name is Lily/Thorn Woman!
Lucy has a work notebook that Sam doodles in whenever he can’t find his own!
Even if Max was completely normal, Lucy would never have dated him for that long. The whole nuclear family shit was a huge turnoff, and Sam does not need another homophobic father.
Sam really blames himself for having to leave Phoenix. Lucy also blames herself. They disagree with each other.
Sam sleeps in Lucy’s room whenever he has nightmares! Michael does too!
They’re both hopeless romantics and cry at romance movies!
I think that Sam was abused by his dad, it just wasn’t physical abuse the way that it was for Michael, so he didn’t think it counted. Whenever he was hurt by his dad, Lucy would always put him aside and promise that he was an amazing kid!
Lucy has every Mother’s Day card hung up in her bedroom!
Lucy got Sam into bird watching!
Lucy also has no idea how the Frogs keep getting into their house without noticing.
They’re huge baseball fans! They love the diamondbacks and everyone is surprised to hear how much Sam loves baseball because he’s not very good at it.
Sam and the Frogs are track runners however! They’re not great at it, but they’re not horrible either.
Lucy is very much that sports mom that comes to every game with bagels and orange slices.
Sam really likes Star! Lucy was skeptical at first because of the whole vampire thing but she eventually managed to impress Lucy!
They both have HORRIBLE gaydars.
Part of it was denial, but Lucy genuinely had no idea that either of her kids were queer.
Sam, meanwhile, will be into a guy that has talked about his ex boyfriend in front of Sam and he’d still have no idea :3
Lucy doesn’t usually read Sammy’s comics but Sam reads them aloud to her like a bedtime story!
Neither of them are musically gifted. They cannot sing at all (the characters, not the actors)!
Both kids very much look more like their dad than Lucy.
However, Sam has the exact same mannerisms as Lucy. If you see them together, it’s very clear that they’re mother and son.
Alan had a huge crush on Lucy for a little while after everything happened. Lucy is unaware of this. Sam is too aware of this.
Michael became a lifeguard during Sam’s sophomore year of High School (Not a vampire anymore lol). Lucy and Sam will do everything to embarrass him while he’s on chair.
Sam, meanwhile, ends up being a camp counselor before college at the same camp that Lucy went to as a kid!
On Mother’s Day, Sam brings Lucy flowers! Usually purple roses!
Like Sam, Lucy is also very observant (Especially with people that she’s crushing on).
They’re both really fond of lazy rivers at water parks.
They’re both really bad at hiding things.
They constantly swear near each other
Sam tries to braid Lucy’s hair. Sam cannot braid Lucy’s hair.
Lucy is so proud of Sam, and Sam is so grateful that Lucy is his mother!
