Bruce knew that his parents, much like other daehên, partnered for the sake of making the emergence of children smoother (and of course love), but he never realized he might have to consider his options.
Dick’s emergence had nearly killed him. The lack of awareness of his creation in the first place did much to exaggerate the tremulous process, but each reminder of the little one’s presence sent a jolt of white hot terror down his spine.
He needed a partner soon, but with the new serial killer running around Gotham, Bruce can hardly keep up. And with Dick being fiercely protective over him, it was a miracle Bruce made it out of the house.
Bruce tries to open up about his feelings towards Clark delicately. He doesn’t want to ruin the decades long relationship he’s had with him. And he feels he’s doing well.
However, the time counts down to zero and everything thing comes to a head when he is trapped beneath a mountain of rubble. Bruce shouldn’t have been on active duty, but all hands on deck was needed and he couldn’t ignore the cry for help.
The emergence starts. Bruce is scared. Terrified, and trying to keep it together.
Clark helps. He always does.
