SCROLLING & SCROLLING THROUGH HER PHONE WITH A SHAKE OF HER HEAD. A huff and groan when they talk about her being a killer. Being accused of eating babies. It's what Homelander rants about on and on. Rolling her eyes when they insult her looks, and saying she's a devil worshipper ! And sadness washes over Annie's features when the latest Starlighter has been captured and taken away. MAKES HER SICK all over again... the many deaths that fall heavily on Annie's shoulders are making it more difficult for the blonde supe to carry more of the weight. She's practically drowning in it. Fuck. Places her phone down, flipping the screen facing downwards- no longer mocking her. With a sigh, Annie pulls her vape from her back pocket and brings it up to her lips- inhales deeply with her eyes squeezed shut, the fumes coming out slowly after. And again, she does it.
Lost in her own little world. Annie didn't even notice Kimiko approaching her; she couldn't imagine how she must look, daydreaming with such a pained expression. The blonde superhero SNAPPED OUT OF HER THOUGHTS when she caught the scent of a meatball sub filling her nostrils, curling around her as a wake-up call. What a luxury they get to have. Even if on the run, they dine like kings and queens. A polite smile and a hushed apology as she tucks blonde hair behind her ear. "Hey, sorry," Annie says while looking down at the sub, and immediately shakes her head. "No- hey, you don't.... I'm okay.... really..." Wanting to reassure her friend that she wasn't hungry. But Annie takes the sub anyway and holds it in her hand. ".....Thank you..." Sometimes starving herself really isn't the brightest idea. "It's- it's just been awful, you know ? I... I feel like I'm just... a failure..."
