A Shadow in the Dark

I was walking home late one night, that's never a good idea, I know.
But my boyfriend was freaking me out with his weird Ouija board stuff.
My Nana told me never to play with that stuff, but he said “It’s just a game.”
So I played and... nothing happened.
I didn't realize how late I stayed, it was 3:00 AM.
But I was walking home, and I heard footsteps behind me, they were close.
But when I looked behind me, no one was there.
So I kept walking, maybe it was a stray cat or something.
Then I heard them again,
I looked, and this time, there was someone there.
I couldn't see if it was a man or a woman, it was just...a figure.
A shadow in the dark.
So I started walking faster, and it followed me,
I went faster and faster, and so did it.
I kept looking back to see it getting closer and closer.
I could no longer hear its footsteps because they were in time with mine.
It was walking the exact same pace as me, but was faster!
I turned a corner, I was just another block from home.
I quickly stopped under a street light to catch my breath,
then I risked a look behind me,
Only to find the shadow was nowhere to be seen.
I started to feel just the slightest bit of relief.
Then I heard a soft “hello” right behind me.
But wait, that voice, that was my voice!
It sounded exactly like me.
I slowly turned to see it standing right outside the circle of yellow light from the street light above.
I still couldn't see its face, my heart was pounding, the ringing in my ears was deafening. I held my breath as it slowly...so carefully...stepped into the light.
And the light slowly revealed its face,
No wait, my face, it looked just like me.
How could that be me?
But my eyes, no, it's eyes!
They were solid black.
Like there was nothing inside but darkness.
Then it smiled at me. A horrible, wicked smile.
“Don't worry,” it said in my voice, “it's just a game.”
