Sunny day in the mountains, Alberta.

I’ve always loved thick, lush woods choked with fog and lichens. Before this hike, I wasn’t sure how an alpine summit would suit me because I knew the trees would be sparse and the lighting would be a lot brighter than I’m used to with my camera. But I fell instantly in love with the climate of the upper mountains - the scrubby green shrubs, the rampant wildflowers, the luxuriously blue water. Everything. It was honestly heartbreaking to come down from this mountain. Whenever I come back to Alberta again, this spot will be on the top of my list.

Gondola up to Sunshine Meadows trailhead. Twenty minutes of pure giddiness riding to the top.
