For the ship ask meme: Sherlock and Molly, ofc :D
Yay! Iâm so excited! :D
Drinks all of the coffee - Iâd say âŚMolly. Of course we know that Sherlock drinks black, two sugars, but I can see Molly being the coffee drinker in the mornings while sheâs a walking dead personified before she wakes up properly. She just drinks one cup after the other being all zombiefied as she tries to muddle through the morning ritual, and not paying any attention to the steadily emptying coffee pot. She drinks it white, no sugar.Â
Brings up adopting a pet - Surprisingly âŚneither. They didnât actually come to talking about it before either one of them stumbled upon this poor homeless little creature. It stays with them ever since. (wasnât there a goat once in your Ficlet Cementary? I can see them keeping it XD Bonobo always had a fair chance too, in my mind! ;))
Kills the bugs - MOLLY! LOL, I can see her taking this warrior like attitude as she takes her weapons of choice (a slipper or so) and fights them (mosquitoes, flies, spiders, etc) to the kill all with war like yells and shouts while Sherlock watches her firstly bemused then highly amused and eventually⌠aroused. Lol. While not being squeamish himself Sherlock did squeal in a high pitched voice once as a particularly big bug crawled his upper chest while he was in is Mind Palace. The be fair he was naked at the time and it was the very first thing he saw upon coming to the reality. But boy, what Molly got from that blackmail material later on *smirks*.
Cooks the meals - Oh, I hc Sherlock as being a genius but lazy cook (read: doesnât cook at all) and Molly more as a baker than cooker (read: Mycroft will do ANYTHING for her. ANYTHING). But they are both actually very proficient cooks and often find themselves wanting to cook at the same time. Ergo: cooking competitions or fights over the kitchen. Later on when they have children and the offsprings are at the grandparents they experience mild empty nest syndrome with Sherlock baking tons of comfort foods and Molly walking from room to room unsure to what to do with herself.Â
Starts getting into holidays way before they should - (not a native speaker here so holidays as Christmas etc?) Hm, I think Molly is the more festive one, but I can definitely seeing Sherlock deciding how their next Christmas goes âŚduring a lazy day in the middle of June. He of course buys everything theyâll need right away. If by holidays you mean going on some kind of trip: Molly prepares like two weeks before they are supposed to go, putting off her fav clothes and etc, while Sherlock often goes like âMolly, weâre leaving to Bahamas in two hours, everything is settled down, letâs go.â While Molly experiences mild life crisis for there are tons of things she should have packed and prepared and checked and there is no time⌠;)
Initiates the couple selfies - Sherlock - especially in the early stage of their relationship. But of course he had already lots of Mollyâs pictures on his phone and in his wallet, even way before the TRF. Of course itâs for a case, what else? definitely not for sentiment (His logical explanation is as follow: always easier to persuade potential witnesses if you can share your personal life with them - a wife, a girlfriend, a sister [that one is a rare thing, especially when he shows the lingerie one]. - I picked this headcanon from some stories, one of them was published recently.)
Forgets the birthdays and anniversaries - Hm, I donât see either of them forgetting those. Molly for sentimental reasons and Sherlock for being Sherlock. Once he commits he goes all in. So I can see him doing elaborate planning for each one of those.Â
Always ends up with too much junk food after grocery shopping - Molly, but only because Sherlock tags along and puts all of them in the cart (and yes, this is a vague callback to your wonderful Tomâverse :D)
Nicknames the other - Oh! Sherlock and Molly are âŚan odd couple, right? Loving, even sweet, but well by society standards âŚodd. So the nicknames, if they decide to use any, will be something unique too, imho. Right. This headcanon is based on cactusnellâs latest story The Natural Science of Happiness Hormones. In this one Molly is disparaging that Sherlock is too pretty for her, calling him a peacock a couple of times and all and he replies to that with something alongside the lines of âyou should have watched the nature programs, Molly, peacock is only showing of his plumage for his less flamboyant peahen who is the most beautiful thing to him. You are my peahenâ. And ever since Iâve decided that I can see Sherlock and Molly referring to each other as something as odd as My Peacock/Peahen with an amused mischievous glint in their eyes. But in general I donât think they will be for nicknames at all. I think the closest one will be Sherlock calling Molly, My Molly. I canât see Molly calling Sherlock any sort of nickname. *shrugs*. Hm, there was one ficcy with Molly calling Sherlock Bumblebee to his Honey Bee for her. So I suppose a Queen Bee for Molly, Bumblebee for Sherlock and Honeybee for children might be one of the nickname sets I can see them using.Â
Thanks for asking! I loved doing this one :D
