15.) Tell me about a plotline that could have been interesting if anyone else wrote it.

The last 6 issues of Superboy (1994), barring issue #99.

So, after Kon returned to Earth from Apokolips and after the Our Worlds at War event he was deeply depressed and Cadmus, fearing Government meddling and corruption, packed up and LEFT without Kon.

He was homeless.

He had not taken up permanent residency with the Kents at this time and living with them full time was not something Kon even considered as an option. Remember, the original origin of Kon had him and Clark not at ALL related but they still loved and respected each other.

Things also progressed quickly during this time so Kon became homeless, was living with Young Justice - but Cassie didn't like this and thought he was LAZY and kicked him out, so he went looking for a home in Metropolis.

After being sexually assaulted multiple times, he finally found an apartment to live in and secured rent as a live-in maintenance worker. The apartment was in the poorest area of Metropolis and housed a variety of people including criminals.

It was all written by Dan Didio.

You see, the PREMISE of this idea is not bad at all and it could have been a compelling way to close his series.

Kon being homeless in Metropolis and suddenly finally understanding after all of this time that he is NOT a man, he is 100% a teenager, that he isn't SUPPOSED to struggle like this yet, that finding housing is not his responsibility, that he needs HELP because he cannot protect himself from being exploited himself could have gone so far.

He can recognize when others need help instantly, but he can't do that for himself. Because he is a teenager.

It also could have tied into providing the reader a meta reason why Clark and other adults were so hands off with him (it was all editorial but a meta reason could go far).

It also could have been a compelling story about homeless youth which DC only rarely has done right.

But we didn't get this. We got cringey early 2000s humor, sexism and homophobia from a man that thinks panty raids are actually funny, he was in his 30s.

So I feel like ANYONE else could have written this better than Dan fucking Didio.

18.) Which character got fucked over by the reboot the most?

Hard to say because the n52 reboot is no longer even canon... and I didn't stick around to read it. I read Teen Titans then checked out.

Bart wasn't Bart, Tim wasn't Tim, Kon wasn't even Kon, I am ashamed to admit I forgot if Cassie was even Cassie but either way I was not impressed with her writing either.

Amanda Waller, who is now a Joker character. Her entire presence deeply completely destroys the suspension of belief now.

14. Unpopular opinion about your fandom?

Every OP fan is an expert, and only their opinion is the correct one. When I look in the mirror, I spot one of those too. Bunch of Nerds!

I'm kidding... but honestly I don't know.

One Piece is - in my opinion - too splintered to actually find something really messy (Pro-Tip: Stay away from places that are just for OP overall and search for places that are for the ship/character/crew you're into. Ídeally Find multiple smaller groups where you find support.) Even the FRobin fandom is so varied that it's hard to find any opinion that has no supporters.

I just hope that it will stay peaceful and that people don't start wars over headcanons one day. The more people flock to the ship, the bigger the fandom becomes, the more possibilities for wank.

But I hope that the ship in itself is so healthy, that the toxic people can't get enough fodder to start shit.

15. Unpopular opinion about the manga/show?

Not sure if it's unpopular but... Oda's perception about women aging is ridiculous.

-> When you're a child you're small and cute.

-> As a young woman you're beautiful, divine and super tall!

-> And then you shrivle up and become a potato. Maybe you stay big but most of the time you're become tiny plus so many more wrinkles!

There are always exemptions from the rule and there can be reasons found for stuff like that... and I know we're talking about anime, but that is not how women work!

I got so angry seeing Gloriosa... like... how???

Is it about good and bad endings (like I just read in a theory)? I don't know. Is Shakky still hot because she got her man? Who knows? Maybe we do get another explaination in the current flashback. (Also WHERE DID SHAKKY'S CHIN COME FROM?!)

So, if we take the "good future, bad future" options to the side, a less obvious example would be O-Tsuru. We see her the first time, she has a really nice, slightly crooked nose (based on classic japanese drawings). We see her younger self in a flashback, no crook to be seen. Did she get her nose broken in later years then?

Oda you coward!!

Anyway... not sure if this is unpopular... maybe more specific than the usual "Oda's deciption of women is sexist"?

2. Are there any popular fandom OTPs you only BroTP?

Steelwave and Steelatom. I respect and acknowledge the dynamics (seriously, how can you not) but they’re not my ships. Maybe I was just too committed to the poor doomed Titanic that was Atomwave…

16. If you could change anything in the show, what would you change?

Hah. A few things. Martin Stein dying (just let the man RETIRE and enjoy time with his FAMILY). Ray and Nora leaving (grr at the behind-the-scenes stuff that clearly happened there). And there were a few times when the show went too chaotic (if Legends could ever be too chaotic), e.g. as amusing as Mick’s mpreg was as a concept, it was one of the times I was just, why. (The nose thing…)

23. Unpopular character you love?

Are there any unpopular characters on Legends? I guess Mona was quite disliked (*glares at some of the fandom*). She is a literal baby who I wish we saw more of. {{{Mona}}}

Kyoshi Protection Program is a modern AU where, from Rangi's perspective, sees a cute new lady moving in next door (and is struggling moving a very heavy couch or something with a rolling chair by herself). Like the good gentlewoman she is, she races out there to help (and get her number, she has priorities). Yadda yadda, gets to know the new neighbor.

She's single (yay) and lives with her high school brother Lek. Doesn't really like to talk about her past or why she moved. And seems to be possibly pregnant (cool, a girlfriend and a family? Rangi is set).

Cute little rom-com on Rangi's end. But a darker twist we we get to see Kyoshi's side of things. 👀Mama's hiding something fierce. But that's spoilers uwu

Fun facts about this AU: iirc this fic was inspired by a gif or a video of someone moving a couch/fridge with a office chair on the other end as support TT0TT

7. Is there anything you used to like but can’t stand now?

Yep! I was a huuuge Charlie Pace fan, like he was my second favourite character, I just liked him a lot! On a 20-years-later rewatch though? Ahem, well! Turns out that I don't really like Charlie after all. I found myself making too many excuses for the things I didn't like in his character so eventually I had to give up ad admit defeat: Charlie is a bit of a dick. Ngl, I think the writers didn't handle the drug addiction storyline particularly well. I dunno, I find his arc too all over the place, not to mention that its finale message is so dark: if you follow the "recovery" storyline then you have a character who can't really recover, the only way to be "forgiven" is through self-sacrifice which... dangerous message. If you follow the "Charlie is a dick not bc of drugs but bc of his personality + backstory" then you also have the story of a character that can't  be "saved" bc he's "inerehently" off-putting and weird and a bit of a dick, which is also a dangerous message.

I'm not trying to be a moralist but the show does have, at time, a very evangelical vibe that I feel like I need to go against it and say my piece about it, lol. Incidentally, I think this is also why the show definitely toned down (read: did its best to make us forget about it) Jack's suicidality, drug AND alcohol abuse. If you connect the dots the final message of the show is absolutely bone-chilling.

13. Unpopular opinion about XXX character?

I think Desmond and Penny's love story is... okay, ig. I used to see their love story as the epitome of all love stories but on rewatch it's just... okay. I know, I know, EYE know... it's all very Odyssey-coded and I do like that a lot but... it's also very male-centric and, ngl, I don't understand why Des is so hung up on getting Charles' approval. I mean, YES he has big issues with masculine figures of authority, that much is clear, but why? You gotta give me a reason, brotha. On Penny's side... look, I understand that her name is Penelope but is she a character or an archetype? The Waiting Wife/Lover has to have a personality too and you gotta write it bc I can't do your job as well, writers. Lol.

17. Instead of XYZ happening, I would have made ABC happen…

I would have completely changed Michael and Walter's stories in S3. Not sure how, maybe I would've killed off Michael while he was trying to save his son and Walt was left to live with the Others like Alex did (he wouldn't know Michael was killed by them or something). I dunno, I'm spitballing now but I'm furious with how they've handled their story. Look, writing children is difficult bc the actors obviously grow up more rapidly than the story but still... they kinda forgot about him while Michael "becoming" Kevin Johnson doesn't make an ounce of sense. Me not like at all. I wouldn't want Michael to die/be killed at all but I understand that, in his case, sacrificing himself for his son DOES make sense bc his story is a story about a HUUUGE sacrifice done in the name of his son's well-being and it's complex and hard and difficult to watch but it's  also so raw and real. I just hate how they introduced something so good and then turned it into something so bad.
