The WBEZ-Sun Times CEO just announced today a voluntary separation program (aka paying folks to leave early before WBEZ's forced to let them go for cost reasons). Scary times for one of the nation’s most prolific NPR stations.

If you’re like me and you’ve relied on this sub and free sites for local reporting, now’s the time step up to support WBEZ (or other local outlets) if you can.

Though an emotional epitaph for the iconic critic, the concluding interview with his wife casts a pall over the entire documentary as she expresses her reluctance to let him peacefully pass (opposing his wishes to not be resuscitated, so he had to sign a DNR in secret) to such a degree that it was personally upsetting- make your end of life wishes known to your loved ones (and loved ones, honor those requests).
