Since I'm getting close to the end of the maiden and the monkey fic over on a03, I'm coming back to the thoughts I've had on the fate of the Six-Eared Macaque's soul after being sent to hell after Wukong kills him for impersonating him.
In the fic I have the SEM swear to come back one day when Wukong least expects and feels the most safe.
So my thought was he's reincarnated and meets Sun Feng on the Mountain of Flowers and Fruit.
