about summoner lying, what exactly are they summoning? are they constructs made when he summons? or are they creatures from some place else? if they are creatures from some place else, where from?
It’s a little bit of both. Lao is creating the creatures out of magic, but they’re semi-mindless replicas of actual creatures that they’ve encountered before and are very familiar with. Less intelligent and more homogenous creatures like skeletons are easier to model than specific individuals (which are also more costly to sustain). They put together the pattern in a sort of magical schematic and the device on their back then runs it, sort of like a simulated entity on a server.

Does Lao Ying have any restrictions on summoning, and if not, what is a favorite summon?
The number and quality of summons is restricted by their Crucible of Summoning (the golden object worn on their back), their current version can support up to 5 summons at most. More advanced versions can support hundreds of summons.
Since it’s a pretty easy thing to summon and is still pretty durable and helpful, they most commonly summon skeletons.
Is Lao Ying afraid of fire at all after the uh..Incident?(sorry if this has been asked before)
Hard to say, they just sort of freeze up around it. Kinda hard to ask them then.

The June special wraps up with episode five. There’ll be a behind-the-scenes look at how everything was accomplished to finish things off, but I hope everyone has enjoyed the first of what I hope to be an annual tradition.
Currently I intend to not start a new storyline series in July, to give myself a bit of a breather and let me figure out what to do next and how, but hopefully we’ll see a new one in August.
I really tried to push the limits of what I’m capable of with these episodes, both in writing, production, and effects. There’s one or two things I might do a bit differently, but overall I’m really happy with how things turned out. I learned a lot of tips and tricks that I could have done with ages ago doing this.
Next year’s June special should hopefully be a lot of fun.
