This Season is for Camping & Summer Camps
School is out, summer fun commences. Even though this is an exciting thing to know for school goers, it can be daunting for adults. The questions of what are we going to do with all this time? How I’m going to keep everyone entertained? Is this the right Sunscreen?... are always on the back of every parent’s mind. Finding answers to these and many more questions tend to occupy a good portion of parents’ time the last couple weeks of school. Yes, yes, we know travel is always an option, you could visit all the local usual entertainment options including museums, zoos, you name it, but when you do a time check you realize that it’s only been two weeks since school ended. Gosh it feels like we have been doing summer for a life time, you groan. Wow, how are we going to do this? You sigh!
Well, don’t loose your sleep over summer activities, it is here to stay so you might as well roll with it, right? If you don’t already, we want to suggest that you add camping trips and summer camps to your list of summer activities.
It is an incredible way to teach your crew some life skills including getting out of their comfort zone, aka your air-conditioned home.
Enjoying and experiencing the great gift the outdoors are.
If nothing else, you have your family entertained for a whole weekend for a relatively inexpensive trip.
Below are two lists of some easy to get to parks for a day hike, overnight camping, staying for the whole weekend, and some summer camp programs. We also recommend to carry loads and loads of sunscreen. You might be surprised at how much damage can be done by couple hours of being in the sun consistently. On that note, we love Elta’s line of SPF from our friends at O’Young MD, they have something that covers a broad range of skin types.
