[text] so i know i hardly know you but i just had a really sudden thought

It was good to be back home in Newbark after traveling so long, this was for certain. How long had Ethan been away from his mother and the familiar people of Newbark this time, he wondered? Weeks, months-- ahh, it felt like so long that he had actually started to miss the place a whole lot and it was nice to back in his house again. Albeit his mother wasn't around when he came back, but that was alright, wasn't it? The key still worked and here he was, tossing his bag onto the sofa of the living room couch and stretching his arms over his head in the most carefree of fashions. After getting back of course he had to visit the Professor who seemed to want to see his pokedex for some reason or another and thus he took advantage of when the older finicky man was focusing to slip out the lab and head home till he was finished with playing around with the data. The raven made sure to take care of capturing a lot of pokemon for his pokedex that he seemed to be so worried about so Professor Oak could get the data he needed so whenever he came back here it was the same routine over and over. Elm would request his pokedex, he'd wait around for a few hours only to realize he could have bee productive and wasted his time elsewhere. He had learned though, of course, and here he was doing so right now and being productive with his time.
Or rather, relaxing and sitting around elsewhere because being around old men in labcoats was no fun at all and it would kill you from the boredom you would suffer. Not to mention Arceus forbid if you fell asleep while there-- They'd complain about papers needing to be free from slobber. Kind of insulting if you think about it, so it was best to be home and play video games or something, right?
The boy had wandered into the kitchen so to grab some sweets his mother always had hidden away-- cookies this time, apparently-- though while doing so, he could of swore he heard the front door close for some reason? Had someone come inside? Perhaps his mother had returned or something-- but no, those footsteps heading in his direction were too quick. There was only one other person that would dare to wander into his house without even knocking, mainly because she was already like a part of the family and didn't need to anymore. The champion shoved a cookie in his mouth and spun on his heels to go see if his thoughts were correct, but alas, said person had already wandered to where he was and before he knew it he had been brought into a sudden hug-- By his childhood friend Kotone. No one could mistake that ginger brown hair, after all.
"Hey, Kotone, you're gonna choke me!!" he joked with a laugh. 'Geez, still the same... As if she'd change, ugh.' "It's good to see you too, though--!"
