SCRUBS, 8x15 - “My Soul on Fire II”

Perry and Jordan are actually trying again. And they both want it to work, not that they'll admit it, if not for them than for the kids. Anyway. They decide to do the unhappily married midlife crisis move of spicing things up in the bedroom by having a three-way. For whatever reason (Jordan knows he's good, convenience, they know he'll say yes whatever.) They pick JD as their third. Just for one night to spice things up. They are 100% just using him just this once to spice things up.

It works. But then a few months go by and they're at each other's throats again and not in the fun way. So they try to spice things up a different way but they can't agree on anything new they haven't already tried and nothing worked before quite like a threesome. So they drag someone else who's passably cute and easy to control in for a night. But it's not as fun or helpful. This person doesn't react properly or understand their orders correctly.

They're not as well trained as JD. They don't. LIKE JD, it's just. Jordan and Perry have both already broken him in to respond properly to them. It would be such a pain to waste time training a new toy every time when there's one they've already put the work into. So they pull him in for another "one night stand" and it works.

That is. For a few months. So they bring him back when things are bad. And then. They might as well bring him in before that get really bad. They both know the benefits of preventative medicine.

And through all this they're falling (back?) in love. They're striking a balance they've never found before and also. Oh yeah. They're starting to find a balance with JD. They're also maybe starting to fall for him. Who has been a little in love with Dr Cox for years and is starting to see a whole new fun and almost caring side to Jordan.
