I don’t understand why it’s so hard for me to imagine Shauzia with long hair. It wouldn’t really make a giant difference but it also kinda would. I still would have loved to see her having fluffy curly hair.

Don’t you think it’s also funny that Sulaymann is Parvana’s older brother but yet they made him look exactly like Shauzia? Curly hair, gapped teeth, brown almond shaped eyes.

Also why does Parvana’s whole family have straight hair and Sulaymann got curly hair?

Fun fact: Mother’s Day is celebrated on June 14 in Afghanistan. I’ll make another post of the breadwinner mothers then.

But today it will be for Fattema. She’s obviously a very loving and kind mother and it’s very obvious she suffers from the loss of her son.

I have a genuine question about what people think about Asif?

Asif is such a great character that is so rarely mentioned. He played a very important role in parvanas life for 3 books. And the breadwinner doesn’t have a big fandom so it wasn’t a surprise for me to find out that no one talks about characters such as Asif, Leila, and Hassan. Or even Parvana’s family or Razaq. The fandom usually rotates around Parvana, Shauzia, Idrees and a bit for Sulaymann.

Which is very understandable since Parvana and Shauzia are very unique main characters and I am a big fan of them. They symbolize the struggles of women and girls under the Taliban and their endurance to fight and survive. I quote Deborah Ellis on this beautiful quote.

“To children we force to be braver then they should have to be” In Parvana’s journey

Idrees is the main antagonist and he’s a representation of the Taliban and corruption of young boys. (Though he’s pretty evil ngl) he’s such an intriguing and amazing character to think about and what he is and could be or what he used to be. I understand the hate and I understand why people sympathize with him and thankfully do not think he’s actions are good and Sulayman is basically the character Parvana has been thinking and talking about during the movie, a representation of children lost in war and he genuinely has such a sad story and death and he seemed so kind.

These are characters I understand the fandom likes to talk about and I do like talking about them to but I also enjoy the other characters since they’re all so interesting and all have struggles. I don’t have a favorite in the books but I personally favored Asif because of his funny nature towards Parvana and he ended becoming. I already did my interpretation of him. I wanna see others talk about him.

I haven’t been feeling well and I haven’t had much ideas. I’m basically saying I could use some ideas from other people because my head is currently empty 💀

Imagine if Sulaymann did live! Everything would have been easier. Since he would most definitely be a young adult he would be able to find better jobs than Parvana as Aatish. He could help their father in the market even though Narullah would love for his daughter to have a normal childhood and be able to bring her out, he knows that if he does she could face trouble like when they met Idrees. But with Sulayman since he’s a visible guy he would be able to help their father around and both would earn much better money.

Fattema’s health would be much better, though she’s still locked inside at least all her children would be alive and safe. Soraya would have a companion her age who maybe she doesn’t bicker with all the time. She probably wouldn’t confide in him but he would be like a rock for her and we can guess and that Parvana would rely and admire her brother for what he is and what he does for their family. And Zaki is still so young but he could grow up with two very positive male figures and his life and affect him when he grows, it could shape him into a kind gentleman like his father and brother and know how to respect women from his mother and sisters.

Many things would be better but we will never know since Sulayman’s death was a big deal in the movie.

Surprisingly when I first read the book I was shocked to realize that Hossain was so rarely ever mentioned in the book. And then back again in my Name is Parvana but it was such a small part. Hossain didn’t have much of an affect but it was also mentioned that he was a great brother to Parvana just like in the Movie.

My mother is a writer

My father is a teacher

And my sisters always fight each other

One day I found a toy on the street

I picked it up

It exploded

I don’t remember what happened after that

(I have no idea on what Zaki and Parvana are doing😂 Soraya is judging them. And Sulayman is just chilling.)

Sulaymann looks like he does this on a regular basis, Soraya looks annoyed and Parvana and zaki are just happy. They would make such a fun sibling dynamic with Parvana and Soraya just constantly bickering, Sulaymann trying to ease the tensions and Zaki just watching. I think Sulaymann and Soraya since they’re closer in age they would get along better and talk more normally like kids their age (If Sulaymann was alive I’d say he’s a year older than Soraya since they’re closer in seemed close both in the book and movie.) Sulaymann seemed also close to Parvana and Parvana could have relied a lot in him because of their relationship would be like. Very sweet and playful. Zaki wouldn’t be more different without a brother or with a brother but maybe as he grows Sulaymann could have had a more affect on zaki as a male example along side their father. Soraya and Parvana obviously fight yet they both clearly love each other like I mentioned last post, Zaki also seems to lean into Soraya and since he always sees her he does like to be around her. Parvana and zaki are the youngest and zaki seems to be very playful with Parvana and seems to enjoy her company and stories. They’re all so wholesome and sweet. I should really do them more often.
