Kenopsia: The eerie, forlorn atmosphere of a place that is usually bustling with people but is now abandoned and quiet.
Sunpu castle. Golden eyes glance at the remains of the castle he once called his home, a grandiose fortress that now shrunk in its size with the wear of time. A place that once housed only the most illustrious, now empty except for the few citizens that chose to go beyond the crowd that hovered around the inner entrance. It would have been foolish of him to expect glory after so many years have passed & civilization has come to sprout anew, but nonetheless the changes, the slow creeping of the modern world felt like an alien entity to him among the nostalgia the place brought.
It wasn’t as if he had eyes back then when he was tucked upon the side of Tokugawa Ieyasu, much of the life back then had involved simply sensing around, but he had seen the castle during his time travels with his Aruji-sama, Burnt into his memory & now this new image too would burn itself as a separate picture within his memory. With a separate feeling, no longer one of giddy curiosity but a sense of forlorn as the stories come to fade into the phantoms of the past. A bit eerie even when he thinks of the war cries which could have once ran through, of the triumphant speeches that echoed through the walls. Now they were silent beyond the small call of a crow in the distance to its kind & he knows no matter how much the city itself tried to bring life back into the castle, it would never return to the brightness it used to be. The past was not meant for repeating.
His hand reaches out, to stop millimeters away from the wall of the stone moat. If he touched it, it would be a confirmation of the place he had once called home, a confirmation that nothing had changed - but that would also be him simply lying to himself. Everything around him still rotates with the ticks of time, but somewhere he has come to be stuck in one spot, one memory, no matter where he goes. He needed to change that.
