#suffering is optional

So, the first thing happening for the revamp, (other than the color scheme that didn’t work until I looked at it a bit.)  is a name change which will end up being PieridesofBillions, (already reserved! Look at me being ahead of time!) 

Originally, I wanted to pick a muse that would be meta related, but of the nine muses - meta analysis didn’t really have a place. P.S. - If you’re wondering, history, music, song and lyrical poetry, love poetry, tragedy, hymns [and eloquence!], dance, comedy, and astronomy. Yes, astronomy got a muse but no form of criticism or examination of art did. Because those wonderful, tempetuous bitches knew who they liked in Rome and Greece and thousands of years ago, they still knew no one likes a critic (and even if there was a critic muse, no artist ever prayed to her, so she died!) 

So, I looked up the next best thing, and here is where I love irony - I picked magpies - because I have a tendency to get interested in the shiny thing, want the shiny thing, will get it and find out it’s life story and spiral down into the life story of the thing just to the left of it and rinse and repeat. I used this to explain my thinking style and my writing style all the time. All. The.Time. (I said “What about magpies?” to the person I was bouncing ideas off of and his response “Please, god, yes, go with that.”) 

I can’t remember what I searched with magpies but one of the first results I got was the Pierides sisters who competed against the Muses and got turned into magpies for their trouble. And I thought,” Well, they weren’t really helping me out and magpies and Muses? Sweet.” So I wanted to use the name I chose for a song lyric/meaning account, but me being a huge fact checker, I wanted to make sure I was right about the myth. Well, it turns out the Pierides magpies is a minor entry  for “Pierides” and “The Pierides” as a whole generally refers to the THE MUSES THEMSELVES. 

Apparently,  they decided they wanted in all together and were like, “We got this.” So, I went with the universal flow, but to show the appropriate separation and not get to high and mighty and/or change into a bird myself,  I added ofBillions from my favorite The Martian, quote - which God knows, I was trying to remember at that time to keep my head above water -  “Yes, there are assholes, who just don't care, but they're massively outnumbered by the people who do. And because of that, I had billions of people on my side.” 

I wanted to be one of those billions of people for everyone else, because I know I need those billions of people for me.
