I unsubscribed from their emails, and put the following in the comment box (though perhaps that wasn't the best place to put it — I don't know; hopefully it will still be seen):

"Although I love American Apparel products, the oversexualization of a lot of the photos — where girls pose in ways that seem almost reminiscent of porn — is very offensive to me as a woman. I acknowledge that there is a place for sexual expression, but I feel like what I've seen from American Apparel is extreme, done in a way that does not honor women but instead contributes to their objectification. None of the photos of men have the same degree of sexual suggestiveness.  I have also heard of allegations of abuse which make me feel that perhaps some of these girls are being taken advantage of or manipulated into posing these ways, among other things. This horrifies me. Regardless of whether or not those allegations are true, I wonder who the leadership of this company is and why they seem so intent on portraying women as sexual objects. Although I love the products I've gotten and I strongly value the fact that American Apparel is sweatshop free, I will no longer be a customer."

i was really surprised by the lack of AIC information im like YOU GUYS and so many people havent even listened to black gives way and its like i know its sad that layne is gone BUT MUSIC
