My piece There's Work to be Done is one of the feature pieces within my debut operetta The Clumsy Conservatory Collegiates. The operetta follows the exploits of three male freshmen at the London Conservatorium of Music. The pieces comes towards the end of the operetta where the leads perform in the conservatorium's production of a modern operetta entitled, How I Learnt to Love the Sickle and the Hammer, in order to attract women. The piece is rather ironic because the leads for the most part have been anything but the brave soldiers who they are playing in the performance. They are instead clumsy buffoons who have wimped out of playing a number of practical jokes or perusing relationships with women in fear of rejection.
