neon breakers REALLY living up to its name!
a baby haworthia. first placed on top of soil sometime in october (it shares its home with a baby kalanchoe).
at first, it shriveled to a crisp brown mess. i left it alone for a week or two, then started giving it tiny spritzes of water. just enough to barely moisten the soil. it stayed brown and crispy, but after a month grew another, smaller offset at its base. no roots at all. okay, i thought. once the offset’s offset gets bigger, roots might form on that.
i continued giving it small sips of water. then about two weeks ago i noticed the crispy brown beginning to recede. the leaves started to stretch open and turn green. a week ago they began to grow plump and translucent.
and that, mis amigos, is what four months of patience (and little sips of water!) will get you. 😌
