I know this book by its alternate title: A Million Discursions on People, Writing, and Even More People.
I went to the library looking for stuff that’d help me become a better analyst of the stuff I already write about. I came away with this. Foster’s How to Read Nonfiction Like a Professor promised me “ A Smart, Irreverent Guide to Biography, History, Journalism, Blogs, and Everything in Between” in the title’s overlong second half. I’d call it smart, but it’s neither irreverent nor a guide.
