👀 Can we please stop harassing artists?

Guys, we may not interpret the relationships the same as op, but that's what they saw bc it's what meant something special to them. Reaffirming our opposing ship is something to write in a separate post, not as a quote retweet to op's purely positive fangirling over their fav ships/interpretations. op did not attack our ship. Quote retweeting by attacking their ship(s) and favored interpretations, just because it clashes with ours, is uncalled for.

Already, I'm seeing more quote retweets on op's post, now blanketly generalizing everyone in our ship as a terrible person. Just great.

And I don't have the mental health for publicly encouraging better fandom interactions.

The last time I tried a "hey, there's no reason to assume we can't get along just because we have opposing ships", my own ship's fandom tore me apart. They accused me of "pick me girl" energy and trying to gain popularity with 'the other side"---when all i want is for fandom to actually feel more like a safe space where people don't randomly attack each other. And then they got mad at me for trying to make peace with the opposing ship's fandom after they made death threats to our ship's fandom. HOW WAS I SUPPOSED TO KNOW about the death threats from a few crazy people who clearly should not be on social media?! I don't keep up with that famdom! And I'm not going to assume that everyone on Earth who ships the opposing ship is automatically a bad person. That's unreasonable and statisticaly unlikely. And all these assumptions feel terrible when people do it to us too. That's why I made the "we can get along" post in the first place. Randos were assuming everyone who ships our ship is a lunatic that hates everyone not on our side. But apparently our ship's fandom didn't need me trying to prove we can be good people who can accept different opinions in a freaking manga fandom. I don't interact with that fandom anymore.

What if I got away from Arcane fandom's toxicity by getting really into Hazbin Hotel or KPop Demon Hunters instead? But the thing is that..when I think about it…all fandoms have toxic elements.
