I don't think this is a hot take. I think this is sensible.

But it's one of those weird community posts that won't let me leave a like on it. I still don't understand that community post UI.

Personally, I think Jayce did help Mel grow, but in the same way that the entire city of Piltover did. She may have learned some sincere vulnerability from him or maybe he was the catalyst to make her realize who she wanted to really be, beyond her mom's "wolf" ideologies. But I also feel like what Mel could gain from a relationship with Jayce is mostly done...in my opinion.

Still, i agree with op. l may love Jayce, but Mel deserves better.

This whole idea of "Mel getting in the way of jayvik" is so odd to me, because I feel like she already outgrew Jayce.

...but also, I could see how meljay could work...if you really emphasized certain things in your fanfic writing.
