Yeah I'm part of the moonie fandom and it's huge and filled with drama. A couple weeks ago I decided to rewatch my Tutu dvds and I was like "Hmmm I really love this anime. Probably as much as I love Sailor Moon. I wonder if there are other fans on tumblr." And there are and it makes me so happy! So I must ask: who in the fandom is friendly and fun to talk to? Is that a weird question?
It's not all that weird, but I don't really have a good answer for you. You see, everyone I've in the fandom I've struck up a conversation with has been nice and loads of fun to talk to! (Another good thing about this fandom: it's full of sweethearts~!) I mean, I haven't talked with every single person or anything--that's mainly just cuz of my own crap though, since I always feel super awkward about making "first contact," so I tend to sit around until someone else initiates ^^;--but on the whole my interactions with fellow PT fans has been nothing but positive! I don't claim to speak for everyone, but if there's someone you really want to talk to about Princess Tutu and the like, I suppose you could always drop a quick "hello" or something in their ask box, or join in a conversation you see going on if there's something you want to comment on (seriously, getting more people in PT conversations is always fun imho). Don't be a stranger~!

Oh, I think there're are few more than that XD But it does seem to be in a happy spot where there are enough people to keep things interesting in terms of conversations, fanworks, etc., but it's not so large that you get that nasty in-fighting you see in some of the large(r) fandoms. Personally, I'm always a little torn over wanting the fandom to stay the size it is now on the the one hand, and on the other wanting to drag as many people into it as I possibly can ^^; BUT YES IT IS STILL THE ABSOLUTE BEST, IT OWNS MY HEART AND SOUL~!!
