SUBCLAVIAN ARTERY AND ITS BRANCHES AND CLINICAL ASPECTS

69 yo smoker presents with dusky painful fingertips on the right hand and diminished radial and brachial pulses.  Doppler revealed Monophasic waveforms throughout the right arm with elevated velocities in the right brachial artery.  Angiography was performed demonstrating a high grade subclavian artery stenosis shown here. This was treated with primary stent placement. Follow up angiography of the arm revealed a long segment of FMD (fibromuscular dysplasia) which was treated with angioplasty.
