I have question for the members in this collective. My question is why do you make their muse like that. 

Why? I suppose that’s a good question. Let’s see, here… I wanted something different than what was out there, I wanted something to stand out and make way for a whole new level of imagination. I wanted originality.

I guess I can’t take credit for the idea, because Smaug is a fictitious dragon created by a famous authour, but the idea for the adaptation and face-claim, well, that’s mine. It took little more than a night and a full day to dream up this muse and his basic ideas, but it’s been almost a year come about March and I’m impressed with how far he’s come.

It is safe to say that we know Do Kyungsoo is a very private person. At first, he even may have seemed cold and distant… But as the years went by, he displayed more comfort in being himself. Of course, that doesn’t mean that he acts like the other members of EXO— quite the opposite.

I chose him because we all frequently referred to him as ‘Squishy Satan’ or something of the sort and to be frank, it really suits him. Although he’s cute… I think he is the person I would least like to anger. Which leads back to Smaug. A surprising face to match an equally surprising personality… I knew that Do Kyungsoo was the man for the job.

What makes you give them that personality, back story, little habits?

The personality— snarky, antagonizing, more than a little rude and short with people.. Unwillingness to make conversation… Possessive, apt to thievery… All these were traits I associated with schema from the Smaug in the book, once I thought about it. That Smaug is considerably more prideful, and shows off a little more, but that’s why he’s tweaked in my version.

I wanted to stay as close as possible to the original character’s portrayal without making him carbon-copy. He needed a little more depth, and I tried my best to give it.

I gave Smaug that complicated backstory so it would make a little more sense, him being in a human body and living so far from home. A dragon searching the world not for more of his kind, but for more things to steal and people to … hoard…? It’s hard to pinpoint, because he’s under almost constant change.

Did everybody get inspired by something and improvised from there?

I was actually inspired by the Desolation of Smaug (although I felt the movie title was incorrect, as the desolation was caused in the third part but perhaps it was referring to his past desolation…) and upon watching it, I dug out my battered copy of The Hobbit (I rarely think about reading the new one, because I hate bending the spine) and highlighted the key parts in my mind where Smaug is explained.

As for improvising— yes, I do a lot of that. Maybe it’s a bad thing, but I find it allows me to discover even more about my muse that I hadn’t thought of in the beginning. I mean, how else could I make a dragon work? He couldn’t parade around au naturale.

And how does everybody feel about their current muses?

I feel like Smaug has been and always will be my ultimate muse. The search went on for the ‘perfect’ muse, actually, until I had recently realized that he’s been here all along. He’s been waiting for me to see that, and because of this newfound enlightenment, I have decided we are inseparable. The day I bid goodbye to Smaug will indeed be a hard one.

He’s difficult sometimes to keep motivation for, but I love him. :) My only wish is that someday my readers and roleplay partners will come to love him in their own way, too.

It has been a year (actually a couple of days ago) since I made Ji won and it was purely based on the Actress Kim Ji won, who I saw in the Heirs. She was a fresh face whom not many new about (if not watching the drama). The character started out to be general without anything special but as time went on I felt it was growing bland missing that initial twist and kick. I have had it several times in the past where playing a general muse got tiring after a while - plots were a bit limited back in the days.

I think it was around April when I slowly started to develop the demigod side of hers. She has a friend Yukwon who is a demigod and used to be with Bansin Academy, the plot seemed to be promising. Everything was planned with the mun of Yukwon how he would help her to discover her new powers and truth behind herself. OOC wise I was a bit skeptical, not knowing if I would keep it on the long term - or just an AU plot forgotten after a while but as the roleplaying went on with him, ooc realized it was good, made things entertaining and fun. We searched up which Greek Goddess would be fitting and could be implemented as a pre-established relationship between Yukwon and Ji won and came to Melinoe since she is the daughter of Hades (his God parent) - > Uncle and Niece.

Slowly she learned to control her powers, training and reading up on her own background. She is not really found of her real Mother, in her eyes she just destroyed her life with being different. Rachel as I like to call her accepted it all by now and she uses it frequently. Had a few plots and stories with people here and there (still open for any new ones!).

 …..So basically this is how she got to start out as the girl who she is today, the Actress / Model up front in public and the demigoddess in secret (not many know about this, only those she entrust her secret with).

As for how OOC feels about the current muse - Happy, satisfied and sees a lot to develop / improve on her. Is a bit of a challenge as well and since she cannot tell everyone she is not a normal human being.

      The whole idea that helped me find my character D’zyátian was more of a motivation than anything else.  I know that EXO is a very popular group in the KRP community and I wanted to make something different.  I wanted to create someone that was nearly impossible to interact with, someone that would make people frustrated and annoyed all within the general idea of his story.  I wanted to choose a member that was popular as well, I wanted to take the idea of someone well-known and well-liked and I wanted to make a challenge out of that.  

As you might have already noticed each persona that D’zyátian takes on sums up all of his quirks and behaviours.  I used something simple and complicated at the same time.  The Myers Briggs Personality Assessment test.  

A lot of us- if not all of us can relate and easily understand the test as well as attributes like Inversion or Extroversion.  I wanted him to be able to relate to people in the every day setting, like you and me or some random stranger.

There are things that D’zyátian never loses though, in his whole stages of maturing and growing up, he never lost bits and pieces of himself.  He often looks at the world with wonder and wide eyes, a simple sort of curiosity that develops strongly in all of his faces.  He is more interested in touch, rather than the other senses we strongly thrive on.  He has a sort of absent air about him, as if the world continues to pass him by, as though nothing could catch up to him.  He is in his own mindset and has his own ideals.

      I was honestly inspired by the KRP community.  I know that everyone is probably tired of seeing EXO muses but that ultimately made my decision for me.  Someone popular, someone strong and well liked, someone with a lot of character.  I wanted to take everything everyone knew about Park Chanyeol and mess it up.  I wanted to erase all of that.  And make his image new.

      D’zyátian is a really hard character for me to balance.  He is very strong and his contrasting personalities is almost like running a multi-muse account.  It is exhausting. 

Baekhyun’s character is inspired by two things: 

i. The typist’s makeup artist, a flamboyant and questionably odd man. ii. Like most of the typist’s muses, a single trait of the typist, blown up to an exaggerated degree. Baekhyun is inspired by the trait of pride.

Baekhyun’s personality is derived from an obviously exaggerated version of the real Byun Baekhyun (as the level of sass is probably not so high in person). Following the traits of someone who is born in the year of the Monkey, based on the Chinese Zodiac, the typist implemented the element of fire to his personality to— at the time of creation— complete the build of a quad-group of muses, all following the traits of elements.

Baekhyun’s quirks came from a natural instinct of what flows when the typist writes him. He had a very minimal amount of quirks when he first started (i.e. running his fingers through his own hair; biting his lower lip).

The muse’s back-story, despite not being displayed (as of the current moment) on the actual blog, is balancing to his luxuries and personality— the reasons of why he acts a certain way. His back-story was built as the personality of the muse was being built, thus the connections and reasoning lies strongly.

And I have no clue whether or not I’ve answered the question, because I know I’ve strayed, but— Baekhyun, to me, is like closing my eyes and dreaming a story; there’s no mental thought that really goes into portraying him, though so much work goes into development. It’s like a secondary instinct.

He developed naturally from this, with the interactions with other people (as clearly, he’s softened up significantly to very many people, since the start). As of the moment? Baekhyun angers me, as the typist, beyond belief, but I’m so pleased with how far he’s come. He’s my precious baby.

If I am to be completely honest here, the inspiration for making Thomas came from an abandoned roleplay account that belongs to my dear friend. Well, the only thing I actually got out of it was the fact that my muse is a photographer, but regarding the whole puppet background, I was inspired strictly by the image laying on the right side of my blog. A long time ago, I had seen that one edit of Sehun being a puppet, so the idea came to my head when I decided to make this muse, which is actually my first entirely human muse. The fact that he is a puppet assassin is a fruit of my pure imagination—I just mixed them in order to try making something more interesting.

When it comes to Thomas’ personality, well … you can say any person would be shaken and probably lock themselves away from the whole world after seeing their dear family disappearing into a puddle of blood. This is realistic, nothing out of the common, so there is no twist to this part of his story. Regarding the way he’s quite shy about intimacy and related things goes by the fact that he never had that due the many years he restricted himself from contact with the outer world. His little habits though, those came to my mind along the way, because when I first started the muse I only had the usual licking over his lips as a sign of him getting nervous. What followed simply came to my mind out of blue or became fitting to certain situations while roleplaying with him. Let’s say the habits came from character development.

I must say that my original inspiration was very… practical. Joon is my first open rp muse but I had been in a closed rp for a year and gotten very bored with the dying community, when I stumbled across an ad for a Yifan daddy dom muse- and I knew I had to go for it. Yes, I was just chasing that dick. I needed to try something new as well, and I thought that well, why not jump into open rp then? And so I whipped up the basic framework; his general personality, his job, family background, that sort of things. Nothing too detailed though, just really the most basic things.

It’s only with time that Joon has shaped up to be what he is today. I’ve just… roleplayed him, and let things happen as they have. He wasn’t originally a catboy, for example: one day it just felt right to give him those features, and so I did. All the little details have come to me while I’ve roleplayed him, interacted with others, created stories with others. I’m a very intuitive writer and I really can’t create strict plot lines because I never stick to them anyway. It’s better for me to just… do it. So in a way Joon lives independently from me, doing things and developing characteristics that I didn’t originally even think of. But I think that’s the joy of rp, and what gives muse depth and a more realistic touch as well. 

I based a lot of Luhan’s universe on four main concepts:

1. the Legend of the Tree of Knowledge in the intro of the MAMA MV; 2. actual tomes belonging to the Jewish and Christian tradition ( like the Book of Raziel, the Bible&&.Torah, various religious volumes. ) ; 3. John Milton’s Paradise Lost; 4. Kaori Yuki’s Angel Sanctuary;

The essence, though, is the concept of memory itself. Memory is something apparently impossible to break, and yet it’s nothing but the most fragile thing ever, eternally bound to the being’s behavior no matter what —because if the memory was something beyond the the human existance, if memory could actually detach itself from the human being, it wouldn’t be effected by every single experience the human does, both positive and negative. There’s a reason for why memories become secluded to who has amnesia or doesn’t want to revive a determined moment of their life after a traumatic experience, as well there’s a reason for why someone feels the urge to tell and share the memories they have with others —a megalomaniac gesture, or a gesture depending on the fear the individual holds to see the essence and the emotions of the moment fading away just because he feels like not enjoying it enough. 

And that’s what creates Lu Han —an angel who forgot to be one of the most important pieces of Heaven’s Chessboard, an angel who, perhaps, doesn’t even want to face the fact that his brothers betrayed him and that let his own mind regress somehow,trying to cope with a world bloomed from his hands that he in the end still doesn’t know at all, finding himself drowning into guilt whenever he tries to sleep as images of a war he fought appear almost as if he needs to feel guilty for what happened when he was nothing but a pawn. An angel who still is somehow of a redundant soul —always selfless, always ready to apologize, always ready to be the good figure he has always been before the Fall.

To the Anon:

My muse is actually derived from a Manga called “Koucha Ouji.” I originally had planned on making a character that was Assam, the lead male from the manga, but then I decided I wanted to use Kris as a face claim and Assam is actually from India in origin.  So, if I had decided to go that route, the closest I could have come for a K-IDOL would have been someone like Kim Jongin, and I was already RPing him at the time so… nope, that wasn’t gonna happen.

Instead? I decided to deviate slightly and create my own Tea Prince.  I researched a lot of things and Chrysanthemum tea comes from the Huangshan area in China and thus my baby was born.

His attitude is not one of a fully ignorant person because as I have explained in some para pieces - while he seems to come from a different time, he does not.  He is from a different realm.  Basically he is human in a way.  But where he is from magic exists and in turn it adds a little bit more to him. Sadly that element of magic is why his world remains less than technologically advanced. At least in my eyes.
