Avengers Vol 1 #267 “Time—and Time Again!”
Written by Roger Stern, Illustrated by John Buscema and Tom Palmer
During the Incursion crises, where multiverses collided and perished, Namor destroyed other universes and the billions of people within them using antimatter bombs to save his own world. During this time, Namor detonated Earth-4290001, a universe the Avengers could not bring themselves to destroy due to their conscience. The leader of this universe, Sun God, was actually a variant of Hyperion from another universe. At the same time, Thanos and his group, the Cabal, went to another parallel universe; Thanos did not just destroy a world there, but brutally massacred the Supreme Power team. After the Incursion crises were averted and the universe was rebuilt, Doctor Spectrum, whose universe had been destroyed by Namor, provoked the prime Hyperion of Earth-616 and the Squadron Supreme team they had formed against Namor to seek revenge. The team viewed Namor as a threat that could endanger the world again in the future. Although Hyperion did not know that Namor had killed his own variant, Sun God, or that the other Supreme Power Hyperion had been killed, he was guided by Doctor Spectrum to decapitate Namor with his laser vision, killing him and destroying Atlantis. Some time after Namor's death, while the events of Civil War II were taking place, the Inhuman Ulysses, who could see the future, made a prophecy. Warrior Woman, a traitor who had infiltrated the Squadron Supreme team, collaborated with Zymyr and the sorcerer Modred to learn of this prophecy. According to the prophecy, if she resurrected Namor, she would rule the world alongside him. To fulfill this prophecy and seize world domination, Warrior Woman attempted to steal the time machine belonging to Reed Richards, located in the Baxter Building. When the Squadron Supreme team learned of Warrior Woman's plan, they moved to stop her. During the ensuing massive struggle, the time machine went out of control. Warrior Woman did not achieve her goal, but due to the explosion caused by the machine, Hyperion and Doctor Spectrum were accidentally caught in the timestream and cast back into the past, to the exact moment they had killed Namor. Seeing the moment of Namor's death again after falling into the past, Hyperion realized that the execution they carried out did not ensure justice and had only made matters worse. Hyperion recalled the worldview he had learned from his father figure in his childhood and questioned his rigid sense of morality. A whole is made up of parts. According to Hyperion's understanding, even the most flawed parts had to be understood; if these parts were not understood, there would be no real whole left, and all truths would fall into error. Completely independent of Warrior Woman's malicious plan, and through his own free will and enlightenment, he prevented the execution just as Namor was about to be decapitated. Thus, by saving Namor, he changed the timeline, brought him back to life, and subsequently helped in the restoration of Atlantis.
