Steve opens the door to find Bucky, smart phone clenched tightly in hand and with the most serious face he’s seen in awhile. “Heard you were talkin’ shit, Rogers.”

"I wasn’t really,” Steve protests. Geez, word gets around fast these days. He hasn’t had time to figure out what he wanted to say when Bucky finds out, and he’s always been a terrible liar. Bucky gives him a stern look and he swallows. “I might have been a little? It’s just,” he says in a hurry, “there’s nothin’ wrong with being queer, or gay now, I guess, and you know, it’s not right of those folks to—to just…I don’t know, it just slipped out.” The look on Bucky’s face is unreadable. It’d be almost like the soldier if there wasn’t some unnameable emotion lurking behind his eyes. Steve drops his own gaze to the floor. “I guess…you’re not happy? I gotta admit, Buck, I was hoping you wouldn’t mind.”

“Mind,” Bucky repeats, incredulous. “Do I mind you tellin’ the world Captain America’s a queer and they can suck it up if they don’t like it.” It’s not even a question, his tone is so flat. “No, that’s—that’s actually fucking hilarious.” He isn’t laughing, though. “Do I mind you didn’t tell me? Yeah, that do I sure as shit mind.”

Steve’s head jerks up. “You don’t—hate it?” Hate me, he can’t say. He honestly didn’t think Bucky would, but. There’s a reason he’s been sitting on it, oh, eighty or so years now.

"No, I don’t hate it, you absolute moron,” Bucky says. “Do you have any idea how long I been tellin’ myself that you wouldn’t—that you couldn’t want—”

Oh. Oh. Oh, shit. Steve’s eyes go wide, his throat dry. “Buck. You too?”

”You moron,” Bucky chokes again, and he pulls Steve forward by the front of his shirt to kiss him.

Temperance: Your ideal day - uhhhh. i'd be roadtripping through somewhere beautiful and foresty maybe in the us or canada with good friends and good music. and i wanna get a veggie burger and chips. and i wanna go kayaking AND do archery... and horse ride. all with friends. nice.

The Sun: Your happiest memory - uh. in australia sitting on a beach with my big brother watching the sun set
