In light of some recent events, we as the admin team felt the need to address some concerns. There have been a few complaints about the recent July 4th / Decades Dance plot drop. We want this to be known before we get into the details, but this post isn't meant to single anyone out. This is never our intention when it comes to posts like this, honestly. This is just a message that needs to get out there and be known to the masses.
When it comes to an extreme plot drop like the recent one, we as admins, lead you and hold your hand to get the ball rolling. But there is a time when we must let go and let you ride on your own. Every character has an important role with this plot drop. It's not something to be "skipped" over. You miss an opportunity to grow and develop YOUR character. We only lead the way by providing those chances, it is UP TO YOU to take it and roll with it. But we cannot force anyone one person to particpate and understand choosing not to. We worked extremely hard to come up with events and plots that affect the WHOLE group than a select few. This was to change character dynamics and push them to a breaking point if you will. We are taking the biggest rule of improv which is "YES AND...?" and applying it here.
It was never our intention to box in characters, we can not repeat this enough. You have the freedom to have your character(s) react in the way YOU see fit. As for the issue people have with the MVP status given to our most active members during the Fair event; It was a way to randomize the affected. Macro picture versus a micro picture. We did it in such a way to create a stir and get the first instinct reaction from a lot of people. Perhaps, we should have asked for permission. But that would have ruined the effect everyone has come to tell us they loved about the event. We will in the future consider this more carefully moving forward. But as the old saying goes, it is better to ask for forgiveness than permission.
That being said, there's a lot that goes into planning things and make sure they take off without a hitch. More so than many seem to realize. We ask you to be a little more understanding with a few things: give us some time and realize the main gets updated / things get released as fast as we possibly can. We have lives outside this RP -- this is not our job, it's our hobby -- and sometimes things get in the way. This is the last time it will be addressed to the group. Enough is enough.
