The Su-47 Berkut (Golden Eagle) was a 4.5th to pre-5th generation experimental technology demonstrator aircraft that first flew in 1997. It is notable for its distinctive forward-swept wings, designed to enhance maneuverability at high angles of attack and improve short-field performance. It was a technology demonstrator for future Russian fighter designs. It did not enter production.
The Su-57 Felon is Russia's first 5th generation stealth multirole fighter jet with a twin-engine. Its maiden flight was in August 2019, but the first prototype was flying in 2010. Designed for air superiority and strike missions, emphasizing agility, speed (Mach 2 top speed), faster than some Western counterparts like the F-35, and a combat range of about 1,900 kilometers.
The Sukhoi Su-75 Checkmate unveiled in 2021. It aims to be a more affordable, export-oriented stealth fighter, offering a low-cost alternative to Western counterparts. Intended to be a 5th generation aircraft. Itβs still being developed.
Did a funny.
Ah, today i did a funny. I just tried to make a meme a reality. Some of you might know about the SU-75. Russia's new "wonder plane" that is "ten times more powerfull and better" than the F35. And you probably also know the moniker the russian government is trying to push to us. "Checkmate". Yeah over here at r/NonCredibleDefense we kinda went "nah" against that. You don't get to choose what we call your damn plane. So i did something potentially verry stupid but also funny. I contacted the people that actualy decide on Nato callsigns for enemy planes. The Air Force Interoperability Council. And because of this i'm probably on some list now. XD This is the content of the short email.
"Esteemed ladies and gentlemen of the Air Force Interoperability Council. We over here at r/NonCredibleDefense have but one single request for your consideration for the Nato callsign of russia's new SU-75 fighter jet. Since the start of the war in ukraine we haven't seen a great unifier of communities since the second world war. Not are countries that were formerly neutral now not only supporters of Nato, they outright have joined it. Even Russia's "allies" like china and india don't even support it in this war. (well we know that china sells military and dual purpose material to enemy states but we pretend not to notice it) Now the reason why we contact you is that we here at r/NonCredibleDefense have had a vote with the imput of the lgbtqia+ community And we have come to the conclusion of a proper Nato callsign for the SU-75 (if it ever gets in the air) Behold the "FEMBOY".
Not only does it fit well with well already with already existing Nato naming conventions ,it's downright an insult. And that's the idea. They are desperately trying to push the "Checkmate" moniker on usβ¦β¦. let us show them that they don't get a voice in that. And why not piss them off as well. It's a nice extra, wouldn't you think? π
Best regards, the r/NonCredibleDefense/lgbtqia+ communities
PS We realise this is just going to end up on some secretary's desk, never to reach someone important. But if you can somehow "suggest" it to some higher ups it would be appreciated." Now.......... wouldn't it be hilarious if more people would send this in to their email. Because i sure would find it funny. OOPS https://community.apan.org/wg/afic/contact I seem to have dropped the email. Now don't do anything stupid and/or funny now. ;)
