tbh I think it’s easy to see Rose’s love of all living things and desire to protect them having a kind of “deep end” in the form of an obsession with bringing the dead back to life through gem shard fusion. Personally it makes sense especially if she was driven by guilt for having been responsible for the death of so many gems during her rebellion.
