With everything that'd happened over the past few months, Chopper still couldn't fathom his situation. His crew displaced from their world and brought to a new one. Somehow, the idea of this world having magic but no medical advancements struck Chopper as more shocking than learning that magic existed within him and his crew this entire time. The written language was finally gotten down to the basics for him, though the first few weeks of living in this odd country weren't so bad in spite of their ignorance to its culture. The more they learned, the more at home it felt.
Tragically, things took a turn for the dramatic after four weeks in this magical realm. A plague swept through a village Chopper and his crew had been residing in. A simple case of Tuberculosis, but in this world without medicine, the spread throughout a small village was potentially disastrous. Thankfully, Chopper was not only a gifted doctor, but a pharmaceutical prodigy. In spite of the new world he'd found himself in, he was able to make cures and treatments out of the new realm's equivalent of the materials he was used to. The entire plague had died within one week of starting. The Result: Not a single death.
The people who lorded over this village were sure to have heard tale of the incident, likely meeting the more politically influential among them with curiosity and interest. On the morning of the fateful day that one such figure would approach him, Chopper was running around the village with some children happily following him. "Ahh~! Cut it out you guys~!" Suddenly, one of the kids picked Chopper up and threw him to another, who threw him to yet another child. All of them were laughing, Chopper included. Clearly this was just a game in a land that had become like his own home to the pirate. It felt almost surreal how cozy the deer was here, like Arlam Village existed in its own spot separate from the suffering and stress of the rest of the universe.
Chopper was only snapped out of his thoughts when he was thrown at an unprepared Petra, who fell to the ground on her back with him on top. The girl rubbed her head, saying something about how dumb boys were, only for Chopper to push himself up and laugh heartily. The peace in this village was blissful to him.
