Decembird day 25: Stymphalian Birds Those that read Hercules might have heard of them; these greek birds are Artemis’s pets who migrated to a marsh in Arcadia, where they kept on attacking crops, fruit trees and people. Their beaks and feathers (that they use like arrows) are said to break through armors, ouch. Because he could not reach the nests without sinking, Hercules used a krotala to make them flee, then killed the remaining ones with poison arrows. Merry Chrismas btw !
