#Repost @carlosmare with @get_repost ・・・ #DondiWhite born on this day and lives in the spirit and imagination of so many creative Style Writers. His influence is far reaching in the world of Graffiti art and is securely locked in the canon of our history. Considered the Style Master General he was meticulous and precise about his Style Writing and one of the most discerning when it came to who he painted with. His Crew CIA Crazy Inside Artist or Children Invading Again was formed in East New York Brooklyn, among his painting partners the most prolific works were with Duro1 and @kel1st notably who pushed Dondi to be his best among elite crews like TMT, TDS, Mafia, TFP on the 2 and 5 subway lines. The one thing that separated him and those crews was that he hails from Brooklyn and painted the J and M Brooklyn lines as well. The trifecta with Duro and Kel can not be underestimated in its impact and influence. We were all building on the foundation of the afore mention writing crews, to us we were new vanguard and had higher standards then most when it came to Style Writing. His biggest influence was Slave TF5 and Noc167 two important pioneers who exemplified the highest achievements in Style Writing. His, Duro and Kel’s veraciousness redefined the 1980s era. I witnessed and participated in this magnificent period, as a kid his Brooklyn basement was a classroom a war room and clandestine jump off spot to the near by yards. Being the youngest member of CIA I felt a duty to continue the Style Master legacy well after he and the crew quit. Don pushed us toward excellence and authenticity it is in that spirit that my post Graffiti works in sculpture took shape, they are homages to artist of his caliber that paved the way.
