Stump #2: 4-page preview
Four sequential pages from Stump #2 that I’m working on now. I’ll probably continue to tweak these pages right up until the book goes to print, but for now they are about as done as they are going to get. I left the dialog out to keep from giving too much of the story away, but also so that I can tweak the dialog later, if necessary.
I plan to go live with the Indiegogo campaign for the book before the end of the month. I’ll be sure to announce it here when I do.
Stump #2 work in progress
This will most likely be the cover for the second issue of Stump, and I hope to go live with the IGG campaign within the next couple of weeks.
Stump's adventures continue in this 48-page, action-packed comic book! | Check out 'Stump #2 Comic Book' on Indiegogo.
The Stump #2 Indiegogo campaign is live now! If you missed out on the first campaign, there is a tier included where you can order both books together, but quantities are limited.
I added three new original art tiers to the Stump #1 Remastered IGG campaign. This is all new art created just for this new version of the book. If you’ve been following my art for a while, you might recognize this 3-page sequence. I’ve always liked it, but just didn’t think the quality of those older pages was good enough to add to the book as they were, so I redrew all three pages from scratch. Please check it out and consider backing today!

Stump #1, pages 13 and 14 - now in color
Two updates in one day? Can you tell I’m ready to get into the meat and bones of the story?
Of course...
After three years of daily use, my Intuous4 tablet chose this weekend to completely fail on me. It’s been giving me trouble for a few weeks, but only became completely unusable within the last few days. I have a replacement on the way (an Intuous Draw tablet, because it’s all I could afford on such short notice), so hopefully I’ll be back to posting Stump pages very soon.
To help pass the time, here’s a close-up of the planet-eating, space squid that sent Stump careening through outer space for 1000 years. It was intended to be a full page image, so I spent a lot of time on it. When I decided to reduce Stump’s origin to a short flashback, I didn’t want this drawing to go to waste, so I shrunk it down to the size you see on page 5.
It also perfectly summarizes my current frustration level with my Wacom tablet.
To answer the questions I have been receiving about my Stump comic...
First of all, I really appreciate the interest people have shown in Stump and his first comic book. Out of all of the original characters that I’ve created, Stump has always been my favorite, so it’s cool to see that other people like him too.
Currently, I’m still in the process of coloring issue #1 and laying out issue #2, but once #1 is completed then I will look into a way to get it published.
I do still have 60 or so copies (out of a print run of 225) of the original, black-and-white version of Stump #1 left. This is the first and, so far, only printing of the book. If anyone is interested in purchasing one of these, then send me a private message.
Again, thanks to everyone who has expressed an interest in Stump!
