2 questions: 1, in english ppl text yaa/gurll/yessss/ so is that possible with korean? like 네. would you say 네ㅔ or 네에에? 2, my book teaches the basics of 받침 and at the back of the book it teaches a lot of more rules for 받침. as a beginner would it be too much to learn all the rules first?
Alright! Hopefully, I can give 2 answers!
1. So, when I’m texting someone, I do drag it out by adding extra vowels (I’ll use Jiyeon as an example first):
It can be seen as ‘ahhhh’. I know that in order to drag vowels or small phrases you also add ~ to the end of the word. Like “안녕~” to be ‘heyy’ or “이뻐양~” to be ‘prettyy’. Jiyeon’s mom does it a lot, it’s really cute:
You can really do it anyway. You can add ~ or just add extra vowels, it’s up to you.
2. I would recommend learning the rules. You can go here for some batchim rules. I didn’t learn it right away. I learned some vocab first so I had something to reference when I was learning batchim. Of course, there are more rules to know when you get more advanced in your studies but start with the basics right now.
