✨ A guide to gender neutral alternatives in Thai ✨
First off, pronouns:
เรา (rao) — used to mean only /we/ but is now also used for /I/, like ผม (phom) and ชั้น (chan)
[insert your name] — yes! you can also refer to yourself by simply your name :3
kin terms — you can use the word that's indicating your relationship to the person you're talking to instead of /I/! An example for that would be using พี่ (pii) when talking to someone younger than you
As for the politeness particles ค่ะ (kha) and ครับ (khrap):
As long as you're not in an all too formal context, there's no shame in just leaving them out (trust me, I got the heads up from my Thai teacher :3)
