Day 1 of 100 - July 19th, 2020
I woke up pretty late than what I wanted to but I still managed to do all the tasks I planned so I guess that's okay? Haha.
Okay, so first thing, I'm soooooooo behind my classes than I originally thought, it's made me more anxious. But can you imagine? If I never started on this challenge, I'd have never found out how much I am lagging, so I'm really glad I started.
I studied all of the portions that I planned for today (it took me roughly between 5.5 - 6 hours), but I had a hard time doing that. I haven’t studied since quarantine started (I was extremely demotivated, you can probably guess that already) and its so hard for me to just sit down and focus on one task now. I kept losing my focus every 10-15 minutes and its crazy how I went from studying 12+ hours a day to struggling with studying 12+ minutes of it. I am thinking of trying the Pomodoro technique from tomorrow. Have any of you tried it? How’s your experience with it?
I also managed to meditate and workout today! Since its Sunday, I didn’t want to do anything super crazy but I also wanted to do something that would challenge me and help in relaxing from a crazy day of studying. So I did a Boho Beautiful (that’s her Youtube channel name, in case you didn’t know. She posts the best yoga and pilates videos) 15 minute class. It was awesome and exactly what I needed! I’ve dropped a link here in case you wanna try it out too! For meditating, I took help of a guided meditation video, because I feel like those videos are perfect for someone like me who is almost a fresher to this practice and doesn’t know her way around. I did a 5 minute meditation practice, its not much but I feel its a good way to start!
Also, I got super motivated around the mid-day so I took a long shower and decided to make this a self-care Sunday since it has been ages since I had one! (I’m smelling like I took a dip in strawberry puree, haha).
Later towards the evening, I also managed to review some files sent by a client whose audit I’m to start on tomorrow. I am really satisfied with the head-start I got on it and am quite surprised by how much I got done today!
We were also celebrating a birthday in the family, so the day ended with pizza and laughter! All in all, day 1 was really great AND challenging, too. Can’t forget that.
See you guys tomorrow!
I’m sorry this got really long, but like I mentioned in the previous post, I’m using this blog to journal/log my experiences so I can look back one day when I am unmotivated and get inspired! Also, today was extremely productive but I am not really surprised by it. Like I’ve been on this pattern for too long, I be productive for one day, follow it the next day, partially the day after that and then completely stop. So I am going to patiently wait until I can get past my iconic 3-day mark to officially be proud of myself.
