. . Finally decided to install the VU overbridge to my second B67MKII: working great! 😊👍 . This recorder is a stereo 0.75mm, full-track erase head, chassis version with monitor, without VU. The special internal harness 1.167.676 then had to be installed so I could put the tape machine into its specific console and connect it to the VU overbridge. . Will yet have to replace the butterfly headblock with a more standard, 2-track 2mm one (with an overlapping erase head), so it'll be compatible with all my other Studer tape machines 👌 . Yellow 1000uF Frako cap shorted, then 4R7 resistor toasted... nothing makes more sense, given the functions of each (located in the line output push-pull current amplifier circuit on one of the Repro Amp PCB). . I was alerted by unusual repetitive pops and clicks in the audio output in reproduce mode... and by the typical smell of a burning resistor! The Stabilizer board 1.167.713 for the audio circuits of this #Studer #B67MKII works again, after replacement of the four tantalums (two of them were completely burnt...) and both positive and negative 12V regulators. . Also replaced the yellow Frako input caps, and cleaned the whole board, heatsink included.
