Make Way for MCSA 2016-17
As another academic year draws to a close, we welcome a new edition of the MICA Council for Student Affairs (MCSA). Nitin Pillai, Nupur Prakash and Skandaram Vasudevan of PGP-22 were democratically elected as the senior MCSA for 2016-17.
The new MCSA was elected from a pool of 12 candidates who applied for the posts of President, General Secretary and Treasurer. The selection process comprised of a manifesto by each candidate, followed by individual speeches and then voting.
Nupur Prakash, the General Secretary for MCSA 2016-17 has been a part of the Junior MCSA in her first year says “Being part of the junior student council, it taught me how to deal with various stakeholders be it admin, faculty or students. At the same time, it gave me an opportunity to work towards my college be it even a small change. I bring the same experience to the table being senior MCSA.”
“I am overwhelmed and humbled at the same time to see that our batch has bestowed their trust on us as a team to manage the student affairs. We are confident of doing a good job but that wouldn’t be possible without the constant support from the batch. We look forward to fulfilling our responsibilities to the best of our abilities and have a fruitful year ahead.”, says Nitin Pillai, the newly elected President of MCSA.
“I feel we will work well together. I feel the batch chose three people who complement each other, and I don't think we will have major issues working together. Looking forward to the new team, and hope it is as good as my last MCSA team.” says Treasurer Skandaram Vasudevan, who was also part of the Junior MCSA last year.
We extend our warm wishes to the new MCSA for a fruitful and successful year ahead.
