My friend (the one in dhaka, in the heart of protest) texted me just now. His exact words were, "I Feel like crying." "I think I'll throw up." Do you know what he saw? A RAB (Rapid Action Battalion) officer, (this squad is known for its brutality), drove a car over a student. The student died. Immediately. Do you know what happened next? The other students who were protesting, enraged and upset by this, in the heat of the moment, took sticks and rocks and brutalized the man to death. In side the car. The driver didn't even have a chance to get out of the car. He was poked by woodsticks and thrown heavy rocks at, his face disfigured in a moment. I wasn't there. But he sent me a video. "I'm so sorry for showing you this, but I don't know how else to explain to you. You need to see what I saw." And I watched. And then I threw up. And I watched again. In the footage, all the kids were obviously students, some even wearing uniforms. their hands were stained with blood. They kept hitting the man over and over and over. In the background, someone was screaming, "Guys stop, he's going to die!" They did not stop. They killed him. They killed a man. I wonder if they will forget this memory in their life. Watching someone die and then murdering someone with their own hands. I've only watched a video and I'm traumatized. I wonder what it was for people who were there. Not even out of school and they watched someone die. Not even out of school and they killed someone. Not even out of school, they will be traumatized for life. Today, if they manage to go home safely, they will able to rest and calm down. And as they wash their hands off blood, it will finally hit them. What they've seen and what they've done. Stop this. Please. Every 5 minutes, I'm texting my friends at Dhaka. Asking, "Are you okay?" When I really mean, "Are you alive?" Stop this. Enough. This is enough. Enough people dead. Our government is cruel. They refuse to acknowledge the martyrs. Instead they're sending police and RAB and BGB and Chatra League to kill us. Tell me, where do we go when police murders? Please help us. Right now our only chance is if the rest of the world gets involved. Please, reblog. Share. Talk about it. Let the world know. Let the world know that our government is massacaring our students. Save lives. I don't want to see one more mother crying beside the body of their children.
So I went out at 6 am today and did graffiti in protest. I'm going to post the pics here as soon as I can. Anyways it was really scary, we had to wear masks so they won't recognize us (Surveillance cameras, snitches etc.). Still, an asshole started interrogating us which could've ended up really bad but luckily we've gone away. My dad told me that the student leagues are fucking furious and they're searching everywhere to find out who did it. They're probably gonna search surveillance cameras and find us, but let's just fucking hope they can't put a name to our faces or track us. Yep. Let's hope my house doesn't get raided next. If I'm awfully silent for the next days, I'm probably dead, arrested or missing :DD
Man I love my country. Imagine being scared for your life cause you painted some walls lmfaooo, Couldn't be us right?
Video footage of Abu Sayed getting SHOT by the POLICE in BROAD FUCKING DAYLIGHT with DOZENS OF EYE WITNESSES: exists
Government: Lol no, he died cause people threw rocks at him oopsie
Hiya guys, what are the odds I will get arrested for this? 😍😍 (All jokes aside, fellow bangladeshi mutual, stay safe please. I know tumblr is not that marked as social media, but nevertheless. Apparently, they're raiding houses and going through phones, searching socials and messages. So much for freedom of speech right? PLEASE PLEASE STAY SAFE.)

And remember kids, the next time they tell you, "The Government wouldn't do that!" Oh yes, they would.
*Hundreds of people dies* Prime minister: Okay, and? *Metro rail gets smashed (probably on her own orders)* Prime minister: OH NO MY LIFELINE MY HEART I CANNOT TAKE THIS PAIN I CANNOT SPEAK OH HOWEVER WILL I RECOVER FROM THIS TERRIBLE, HEARTBREAKING, AGONIZING EVENT IVE POURED OUT MY BLOOD AND BONES AND SWEAT AND BUILT EACH KNOB WITH MY OWN HAND NOW YOU FUCKERS RUINED IT OH WHAT IS THE POINT OF THIS LIFE
"Dead" You don't think about it too much, do you? After all, you see it daily on the news. 5 dead in a street accident. 7 dead in school shooting. 20 dead in a plane crash. Around 40k dead in Palestine. Oh its so common. It's just a number. And we've become so used to it, it doesn't even bother us anymore. We see it on tv, we switch the channel. See it on the newspaper, and we flip the pages. "Not my problem" You think. "I wasn't there." "Only 2 died. The rest are still alive. How bad could it be?" It's just a number. Is it? Are lives just a number? At least 6 dead in my country. At least. Rumour is that the number is far more. Far far more. Far more than officially reported. 10? 12? 15? As I'm writing this, perhaps another student takes their last breath. Do you know what's crazy? The first thing I thought when I saw the news was, "Its not that much, is it?" "Just six." Isn't that horrifying? Because deep down, deep deep down, I fear that this isn't enough. We need more. Maybe then, finally, our government will care. Maybe when the death toll reaches outrageous numbers, they will step up. I am horrified. Mortified. I am ashamed that this is my thought process. Think about it. Six. Six students. I have an older brother. He goes to an university in Dhaka. God forbid, would it still be just a number to me if it was my brothers face in the news? Six students. They were sons too, weren't they? Their parents are screaming for them, aren't they? While I'm saying, "It's just six", every parent in our country is praying that their kid isn't next. Six students who were siblings. Friends. Classmates. They've left gaping holes within everyone that loved them. This protest will be over one day. Everything will calm down and go back to what it was. And I believe we will gain the rights we fought about. 6 lives that won't come back. Perhaps more. 6 boys who won't come back home. How am I to breathe when they're 6 feet under? How am I to be okay when several more are lying in an emergency room, minutes away from death? I can't sleep. Not one student in our country can sleep. Some are awake so they don't get murdered in their sleep. The rest of us are awake, going from social media to media, constantly refreshing our feed, desperately seeking for updates. Desperately hoping that it's just six. That it isn't their son or their brother or their friend. I beg of you, no more. No more. 6 is enough. 6 is far too much. No more. Let the mothers cease their worry. Let them come home. Let us have our rights.
