My students are crazy. Why, you may ask? Well...
Today in class we had some down time and I decided to check my phone for new e-mails. I proceeded to unlock my phone and Snapchat was open. As I was trying to exit out of it, it was too late and one of my students noticed and proceeded to tell other students that I was on Snapchat which caused a small commotion. Upon hearing the news, one of my favorite students said something along the lines of: "OOOOooooOOhhh, Ms. R! I see you on snapchat! Are you snapchatting your hoes??? Are they ‘snapchatting you they pussy’???". Now, if you know me at all you know that I am the queen of inappropriate, but I try not let that enter into my work realm with students. Although, I found this comment highly amusing (especially since just this morning I had been singing that song on my way to work) I went up to him and asked him what he was talking about. As I went up to him, I tried explaining how 1. I was trying to check my e-mail - not snapchat, 2. this conversation is inappropriate and 3. that I do not in fact have "a bunch of hoes" and proceeded to ask where he got that idea from. Needless to say, the student did not believe me since I could not stop smiling in amusement and he continued on sharing his theory about my love life. Apparently, my students have been discussing this topic for awhile now and have all decided that I, unlike the rest of my team, "have a bunch of hoes on the side" because "Ms. Rodriguez you are fiery and savage" and apparently those characteristics coincide with "having a bunch of hoes". I pretended to not to be amused that my students thought so “highly” of me, but I was internally dying of laughter. This was truly the highlight of my day and I loved every moment of it. And in case you were wondering, my students also told me that I am fire and my “haters are just water”. I love these crazy kids. 😂 😂 😂
