Georgetown University students may soon be paying slavery reparations as part of a new student fee.
I HATE to do this because I know it was 100% my own responsibility. But in the absolute overwhelming chaos that was my first two months at college, paying my students fees to has completely slipped my mind. I currently owe $254 and I am not getting my living allowance until next Tuesday. I am worried they're going to unenroll me so I am hoping to get it paid asap.
If anyone could spare a bit I can send it right back on Tuesday (evening at the latest.) I have a meeting this week because I'm drropping two classes so I have less of a course load. I am so overwhelmed but hoping I can continue with my studies without interruption or losing funding

âManitoba Students Call âStrikeâ Off,â Toronto Globe. September 29, 1932. Page 8. ---- Union Advises That Increases Fees Should Be Paid --- (Canadian Press Despatch.) Winnipeg, Sept. 28. â The studentsâ âstrikeâ against the increases fees has been called off, and students have been advised by the University of Manitoba Studentsâ Union to pay their fees.
The Manitoban, university newspaper, today carries a statement from John S. Anderson, President of the union, advising students to pay the increased fees, and charging Premier John Bracken; Hon. R. A. Hoey, Minister of Education, and the Board of the Governors of the university with âcontradiction and incompetence.â
The students had appointed an Investigation Committee to inquire into the rumor that the fees were being increased to help restore endowment funds depleted under the administration of John A. Machray, K.C., former Bursar and Chairman of the Board of Governors of the university, now serving a penitentiary term for theft of $500,000 from the institution. The Student Investigation committee reported that they received conflicting explanations from the Government and from the Board of Governors as to why the fees had been raised.
