My dearest darling butch, 

I once again must thank you for always being there for me. For defending me, for going to battle for me when it is necessary, but I must ask you to put down your armor for now. You do not have to be strong and guarded with me. I wish only to take care of you. I know it has been difficult. You’ve always had to be so strong. But you are allowed, and encouraged not be strong now. I will never think less of you for needing me to take care of you. That is, in the end what I’m here for. What I long to give you. The protection and softness you so desperately deserve. 

I thank you for coming to my rescue, and I thank you even more for allowing me to come to yours when you need it. I know it’s not easy allowing yourself to be vulnerable. I more than most can appreciate how difficult that can be, but know that I will be there, to hold you, and adore you, and worship you, and remind you how truly much you mean to me my love. I hope that you will always remember that while the world outside may not always be kind, in here, with me, you will always find a safe place to rest your head.

My dearest darling,

We've made it through the darkest night of the year, and for that, I can be very grateful, but the nights do get colder it seems. I do hope that wherever you are you're staying safe. And staying warm and as always I hope you know that I love you more than I could possibly say in one letter.

This time of year can be a complicated one I know well. Winter is a mixed bag and there's so much expectation of cheer and merriment it can be tiresome if you don't feel it yourself. To say nothing of what it can be like to have to work under such conditions. I hope you are going easy on yourself my love.

If you're visiting family in the coming days I do hope that it is a good visit or baring that, that you are safe and warm. I do so wish I could be there to hold your hand, to hold you close to me, and remind you how very much you are loved and adored.

It's going to be okay my love. The warm days of Spring are not far away now. And then everything awaits.
