September 26, 2024 - Bornean Stubtail (Urosphena whiteheadi) These stubtails are found in mountain forests on the island of Borneo. They feed on invertebrates, especially green aphids, usually foraging alone in dense undergrowth and on the ground. Little is known about their breeding behavior, though one of their nests was built in a mossy bank from reddish plant fibers.

a little guy, done as a study on feather textures in small birds. i had a really good time with this one. special shoutout to photographer Dubi Shapiro, who's photographs of the species i used as references for this beastie ^_^

I made a sketchdump of Stubtail. I’m drawing him and Pike for the Calendar this year, and honestly I’m not great at cats, so I decided that I needed some practice. I’m not done coloring everything, but classes starts tomorrow so I need to start preparing for bedtime, so enjoy these bad phone pictures of Stubtail!
