i dunno if anyone else has really noticed this, but i've noticed a trend with the characterization of p.ai.nter in the fandom. Like- in canon they're shown to be mentally unstable, but some people take it as them straight up being a child (I say that instead of child-like, bc it. it's more than that)
It's a common theme i see with (traumatised) AI characters for some reason. AI gets information off of the entire internet, I don't get why they'd be naive or innocent.
This is also something I see with characters portrayed with / coded as having a mental illness/disability !! They're often infantilized and it's not great

Got diagnosed with fibromyalgia today. Can barely do anything with the info (but be put on some meds that MIGHT help, since I'm a minor) but holy shit this feels so validating ??? like I'm not going crazy or I'm doing something wrong. I didn't expect getting a diagnosis to do much, but having a doctor tell me that no, my pain isn't my fault, and it isn't normal felt so validating

I went to the library today and it was crazy,,, the allonormativity was RAMPANT. Like literally any fiction book I picked up cuz I thought the premise was interesting, also had "oh and also there's a love interest"- and it INFURIATED me. I just want to read a mystery book. I spent two hours in that library, and found ONE book that I wanted to read (it ended up being romance too, as I Am Now Finding Out)
Nothing against romance as a genre, I just find it so exhausted that it's so difficult to find anything that's not romance- like I'm on the aroace spectrum and I feel really awkward reading romance most of the time. I just wanna read something that's y'know- not all about how this person and that person want to kiss???
