After a mad, insane, beautiful and crazy last few years, Strongpencil has had a bit of a facelift and now she’s back and better than ever and her shit is going into the little Strongpencil Store and weird stuff is arriving and leaving and coming back again and it’s hilarious and ridiculous and characteristically inappropriate all at once. A while ago now, I thought to myself ‘there’s beautiful jewellery everywhere, I’ve always loved making jewellery - I want to make the opposite of beautiful jewellery. I want to make the most awful shite that people would never want to wear and jewellery that’s too inappropriate and tasteless to wear to an office or a wedding, but it will deeply satisfy my soul.’ So basically, this is the physical manifestation of laughing at your own joke - and I’m sharing it with you all. Here’s to my new range of bum and poos and bum hair and lactating boobs and hairy nipples and weeing willied sparkly pieces aptly labelled ‘Anna NOT-Wintour’ by our friend, Mick (thanks Mick) made out of the cheapest Dollar King beads and recycled items I could find and thrown onto stupid packaging I made. This set is an experiment - prototypes of what I hope to be a range I will share in my little shop and I dare you to pay the ridiculously low price I’m going to slap onto them. Dare you. Also, stemming from an idea I had when I was 17 (called ‘Frankenchic’...*not my proudest moment*) upcycling passé or sentimental jewellery and repurposing it into weirder jewellery - if you have a piece you would like me to ‘rethink’ send me a message.
