DEAR STEVE, THE WORLD AWAITS YOUR APOLOGY Dear Steve, Let’s use your recent comment on the glorious Tilly Ramsay’s body shape as a chance to educate… you see, I was once publicly called ‘pleasantly plump’ by an influential older man, and whilst you fight down the urge to say ‘that’s not too bad’, or perhaps to consider me weak, let me tell that I was in recovery from an eating disorder at the time and this was the straw that set off the spiral. I went very deeply back into the darkness following this, and it was years of living a desperate life on the edge of death and in the depths of misery, that were in store for me. You see, our brain grows from the inside out and from the bottom up and it is not visible to the eye how far along that maturity journey we are, in terms of neurological alignment and connection. The body however grows in front of the eye and very early so. The female body in particular undergoes massive changes and fluctuations thanks to the majesty of our make-up, and so learning how to accept, understand and endure these changes, is a huge undertaking. Doing this with comments such as yours, made very publicly, is surely above and beyond anything at all acceptable in a modern society of kindness and inclusivity? Ignorant, unkind, old-fashioned and above all, extremely damaging. A very dark path can be ploughed with a throwaway comment or two. So, to recap; never comment or judge a young woman (an older woman will not likely give a toss for your unwanted opinion), on her weight, appearance, sexuality, size or her attraction to you, or lack of, in way shape or form. IT IS NONE OF YOUR BUSINESS AND IT IS NOT OK TO MAKE IT SO. Now, I suggest you focus your efforts into further educating the males masses on this subject as a very small token of your self-loathing following this indiscretion.
