These selections reflect not only popularity, but storytelling excellence, cultural impact, and emotional resonance. Here are the shows that earned our highest praise in 2025.
The Pitt | Image Credit: Max (formerly HBO Max) / Warner Bros. Discovery
Season 2: Official date TBA
PPM Rating: āāāāā (5/5)
PPM Verdict: Best Drama of 2025
The Pitt drops viewers into the relentless chaos of a Pittsburgh emergency room, following Dr. Michael āRobbyā Rabinavitch (Noah Wyle) and his team through a single, continuous 15-hour shift. Nicknamed āThe Pittā by exhausted staff, the hospital becomes a pressure cooker of life-or-death decisions, emotional collapse, and human resilience.
Hyper-Realism: Gritty procedures, rapid-fire medical jargon, and raw performances make the ER feel uncomfortably real.
Innovative Structure: Each episode represents one hour of the same shiftāan intense, time-driven format that keeps tension sky-high.
Social Commentary: Tackles post-pandemic burnout, understaffing, gun violence, and ethical dilemmas without feeling preachy.
Ensemble Power: Noah Wyle delivers a career-defining performance, supported by a cast that feels authentically bonded.
The first episode starts slow, but once The Pitt finds its rhythm, it becomes emotionally consuming. It didnāt replace 9-1-1 for usābut it absolutely pacified the loss. The time-based storytelling was addictive, and yesāwe loved the cast so much we researched their zodiac signs.
That chemistry isnāt accidental. Weāre counting down to Season 2.
It: Welcome to Derry | Image Credit: HBO / Warner Bros. Television
Genre: Supernatural Horror
Release: Oct 26 ā Dec 14, 2025
PPM Rating: āāāā⦠(4.8/5)
PPM Verdict: Best Horror Series of 2025
Set in 1962, It: Welcome to Derry serves as a chilling prequel to the It films, diving into the origins of Pennywise and the cursed town itself. Developed by Andy and Barbara Muschietti alongside Jason Fuchs, the series expands Stephen Kingās mythology with psychological depth and haunting atmosphere.
Deeper Lore: Explores Derryās dark history, cyclical evil, and Pennywiseās earliest manifestations.
Bill SkarsgĆ„rdās Return: More intimate, more unhinged, and somehow even more terrifying.
Psychological Horror: Leans into dread, trauma, and social fear rather than cheap jump scares.
Cinematic Quality: Rich cinematography, layered storytelling, and eerie sound design elevate the experience.
Some CGI moments distracted from the horror, and the military subplot felt slightly foggyābut the tension, performances, and world-building more than carried the season.
Will There Be a Season 2?
Not officially confirmed, but the creators have a three-season plan exploring earlier eras (1935 and 1908). Renewal feels likelyābut not guaranteed.
This series had us glued. Pennywise is chilling like never before, and the cast selection was spot-on.
A worthy expansion of the It universe and a must-watch for horror fans.
Abbott Elementary | Image Credit: ABC / Warner Bros. Television
Genre: Mockumentary Ā· Workplace Comedy Ā· Sitcom
PPM Rating: āāāāā (5/5)
PPM Verdict: The Comfort Show We Needed in 2025
Abbott Elementary follows a group of devoted teachers at an underfunded public school in Philadelphia, blending laugh-out-loud humor with heartfelt commentary on education, community, and resilience.
Mockumentary Magic: A documentary-style format that feels natural, funny, and intimate.
Beloved Characters: Ava Coleman is chaos incarnate (think Michael Scott), while Janine Teagues brings Pam-level heart.
Authenticity: Captures the real strugglesāand joyāof educators without losing humor.
Cultural Impact: A Black-led sitcom that balances representation, warmth, and sharp writing.
Honestly we just started watching this one Currently on Season 2) from being enticed from the video advertisements on YouTube. Basically Weāre still savoring this one. Knowing itās still on air in 2025 gives us something to look forward to. Funny, comforting, and deeply humanāthis is television done right.
